Contractor Who was Stationed in Afghanistan is Sentenced to 20 Years in Federal Prison for Sending Images of Child Pornography to a Fort Worth Resident
(FBI) – FORT WORTH, TX – Decemmber 21, 2012 – A New Hampshire man stationed in Afghanistan who sent child pornography to a Fort Worth, Texas, resident, whom he met while he attended DynCorp International job training in Fort Worth, was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge John McBryde to 240 months in federal prison and a lifetime of supervised release, announced U.S. Attorney Sarah R. Saldaña of the Northern District of Texas. James M. Markwith, 31, pleaded guilty in September 2012 to an indictment charging one count of transporting and distributing a visual depiction of a minor for importation into the U.S. Markwith has been in federal custody since his arrest in June 2012 in the District of New Hampshire on a related charge filed in the Northern District of Texas.
Nashua man charged with distributing child pornography while working as a defense contractor in Afghanistan
Joseph G. Cote – (Nashua Telegraph) – NASHUA, NH – June 20, 2012 – A Nashua man was arrested by federal authorities Monday and charged with electronically sending child pornography images while working as a contractor stationed in Afghanistan earlier this year.
James Markwith, 31, of 56 Dexter Drive, was arrested on a warrant charging him with transporting and distributing images of child sexual abuse, according to documents filed at U.S. District Court in Concord.
Markwith was working for DynCorp International, a defense contractor, and was stationed in Kabul, Afghanistan, in April, according to an affidavit filed by FBI special agent Marya Wilkerson.
He was arrested Monday, according to a Nashua police arrest log.
On April 7, Markwith was speaking via Skype, an online video conferencing service, with a person in Fort Worth, Texas, and admitted to having sexual contact with a girl younger than 10, according to the affidavit.
Later that day, Markwith sent eight to 10 images of a very young girl in suggestive poses and partly nude, according to police.
