Agility gets 6 month extension to ensure smooth transition to Anham LLC
Below is the email apparently sent to ALL Agility employees after the announcement that Agility’s $2 billion Prime Vendor contract had been awarded to Anham LLC.
As most of you know Agility is the current Prime Vendor providing food and logistics support to the US Department of Defense in Iraq and Kuwait. Recently the US Department of Justices filed criminal indictments and lawsuits regarding, among other things fraudulent billing practices to the US Government.
I’m sure Terak Sultan and other disgruntled, embarrassed or indicted Agility managers will do whatever is necessary to ensure a smooth transition ti the new contractor! (sarcasm)

Dear Colleague,
We learned today that the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) has awarded the Subsistence Prime Vendor III (PV3) contract to another company. In order to ensure an orderly transition, DLA has formally asked Agility to continue supplying food to U.S. troops in Iraq and Kuwait under the existing PV2 contract for the next six months.
The news is disappointing, but not unexpected. For several months, the company has been planning and adjusting for the potential loss of Prime Vendor revenue as the result of our ongoing legal dispute with the Justice Department and the drawdown and withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq by 2011.
We won the first Prime Vendor contract in 2003. We brought world-class assets and unmatched expertise to the challenge of supplying as many as 1 million meals a day to troops and contractors. Our performance, under the most dangerous and demanding conditions, is unparalleled in industry or military history.
I want to thank you for the extraordinary commitment you have brought to this contract and to our other important work. It’s that commitment that has sustained us as we navigate our legal challenges. And it is that commitment, along with the assets and experience we put behind Prime Vendor, that will drive Agility’s success in the years to come.
Thank you for your work on behalf of our Prime Vendor customer and all of our customers.
Best regards,
Dan Mongeon

With the impending loss of PV and the fact that Agility is now highly unlikely to settle, I think any of the remaining worthwhile DGS staff will depart in the next 90 days. The incompetent leeches will hold onto they get fired.

Now that PV has been awarded, I guess that leaves only KBOSS, DDKS, and HL7 as the significant contract awards approaching for Kuwait. ITT dropped Agility’s ass on KBOSS and Agility is ineligible for DDKS and HL7. So who has the advantage for DDKS and HL7? There will be numerous bidders on HL7, but who are the likely competitors for DDKS? Now that Logistica is swamped with PV, who else can provide the indoor AND outdoor real estate in one location required for DDKS? I know KGL has a significant amount of both in Mina Abdullah, especially since PV was awarded to Anham.

This is just desserts for the arrogant bas*@#$$. They treat thier help like paid slaves and get rape forgiven just by saying sorry. I am glad Agility lost thier contract and I hope they never get a bread crumb more from us. We should have let the Iraqis have that damn country.

Has anyone won the KBOSS contract yet? As long as Agility doesn’t get a piece of the pie, I don’t really care who gets it.

After Agility got suspended, ITT (the prime) dropped their ass as a subcontractor from their KBOSS bid. No soup for them!

DSCP will have to go “hat in hand” to Agility now to deliver holiday menues….
Apparently – the new contractor can not do it.
Wouldn’t call this a strong start for the new contract holder…
This should not be an issue – if an organization is capable.
Should be interesting to watch. A number of US suppliers already chattering and lamenting the fact that the US funnel for this contract is not one that has the “love and affection” of a majority of the industry…..
Sad – but true.

Until DSCP reviews the amended bids from Anham and KGL and then decides on the BEST VALUE winner, this contract is still up for grabs. Obviously GAO found legitimate discrepancies with the original award, attempted to allow DSCP to save face by not sustaining the protest, forced DSCP to amend the solicitation, then give DSCP a second chance to evaluate the bids properly. I’m curious to see who comes out on top when both companies are evaluated on an even playing field.
Agility is loving this DSCP mess.
