SCAM ALERT! LOGCAP recruiting scams
It seems that unethical opportunists are once again (or still) preying on those who desperately seek jobs overseas. Some hiring companies such as KBR and Dyncorp appear to be proactive and are aggressively trying to warn potential applicants.
KBR Warns of Fraudulent Employment Offers
We are aware that fraudulent employment offers are being transmitted via email by people claiming to be employees or representatives of KBR. Prospective candidates are provided salary information, instructed to obtain immigration documents and pay application/processing fees, and then advised they will be reimbursed for any expenses.
Please be advised that these communications are FRAUDULENT and are NOT sent from anyone within or affiliated with KBR. These email messages are a scam and should be treated as such.
If you receive such a message, you are advised to contact your local law enforcement agency and provide any details you may have. You also may forward the messages to ReportFraud@kbr.com.

DynCorp International Afghan Operation Warning
We have become aware of an internet scam using the DynCorp International name, and pretending to offer employment placement with “DynCorp International Afghan Operation” in return for payment to a recruiter. This scam may also involve a request for personal data in connection to a visa application for Afghanistan. The false recruiter contact may use an e-mail of dynrecruiting@dynafghan.com, although other e-mail addresses or organization names may be used as well. Please do not send any money or any personal information to this organization or e-mail address, or to any other request for money to secure employment with DynCorp International or any of its subsidiaries.
DynCorp International has absolutely no connection with this internet scam. No legitimate recruitment effort by DynCorp International will ever include a request for payment from job applicants. Any attempts to request such payments should be reported to DynCorp International, to corporate.security@dyn-intl.com.

I have been contacted about this particular company Innovative Services several times. This “company” is supposedly run by Valorie and L’Destiney Barton. For $500 they claim they will contact a KBR or Fluor recruiter (they don’t mention Dyncorp) on your behalf and TRY to get you a job. All you have to do is Western Union the $500 to the Wal-Mart in Dayton Texas. It’s my opinion that no legitimate business is going to have you Western Union money to a Wal-Mart. Any legitimate company requiring payment will accept payment via cashier’s check/MO/VISA/MC or even PayPal.
L’Destiney Barton claims to be a former KBR employee and I was told she was a laundry supervisor in Afghanistan in 2005. I don’t know if she had some deal with a recruiter that if they hired her “clients” they got a cut or what. But I am certain this company is not a KBR recruiting company.
In their email correspondence they refer to themselves as Innovative Services LLC, but the State of Texas has no record of this corporation with Valorie Barton listed as President and L’Destiney Barton listed as Vice President from Dayton, Texas.
From their website:
We are located in Dayton Texas currently working out of a mobile office. When our official office is setup a new address and map will be added.
“Mobile office?” What does that mean? A car? A city bus? A computer train? Are they sofa surfing?
In an email response to a “client” who was concerned about the amount of time it was taking for someone to respond to him L’Destiney Barton made this statement:
The jobs that were being negotiated through the company that we refer our clients to have given us information stating that they will unfreeze the jobs in the next 8 to 10 weeks if you have any questions please feel free to contact me through email thank you and you have a nice day. Thanks L’Destiney Barton Innovative Service LLC.
From the time frame that this email was sent and the approximate time that KBR has their hiring freeze on I would surmise she is referring to KBR as “the company we refer our client to”. This particular applicant was assured by a KBR recruiter that KBR does not do business with this company.
When the “client” got concerned about the amount of time it was taking and the lack of email communication he requested his money be returned. Here was the poorly written response.
Hi Mr. (edited) no sir we havent closed our business. We are just waiting on more information from our recruiters. We have received information that kbr has lost some of their contracts, but we are also trying to work with another company by the name of Fleur. Hopefully they actually hire all of our clients that have been actually waiting awhile. We are giving our clients a 20 day wait and if any of our clients are wanting to receive there refund we will be more and happy to send it back to you guys. If so you will receive 400.00 due to us having to pay our company taxes.Also If our clients are wanting to continue their wait we will continue to find the work for our clients with different companies if you have anymore questions please feel free to respond by email. Needless to say, this “client” never got any of their money back and L’Destiney was no help in getting him a job with KBR, Fluor or anyone else.
I’d love to have more information on these two. Let me know if you had the opportunity to do business with Innovative Services.

I have also received several complaints from people, who after they applied to KBR, were contacted directly by someone claiming to be a KBR recruiter or claiming to be working with a KBR recruiter and for $500 they could “expedite” their application and get it to the top of the pile. This is not ethical and I am sure it’s not legal….legal experts please chime in. And again, I’m certain this is not a company sanctioned program. Let me know if this has happened to you too.

If it sounds to good to be true it probably is. Send me the info and I will try to check them out for you. You should only be dealing with representatives of the company. They should not be asking for money for anything. Don’t give your personal information via email. There are a lot of heartless scammers and identity thieves out there who could care less about you or your family.

Wow, these folks are lowest of the low. I wonder if they actually helped anyone get hired, maybe lined the pockets of a recruiter or something? More than likely though, its all scam. A Texas version of a Nigerian email scam… definitely these folks need to get shut down quick and in jail. I have no sympathy for thieves.

It is totaly a scam just about two days ago I got this offer letter, mentioning my salary as 20k USD and position as IT Manager. So, don’t ever take or pay anything for such offers. Indeed, a esteemed company will never ever will ask you to pay for any thing. Be aware of this and circulate this news as much as u can.

Agree – SCAM big time. Several BIG RED FLAGS
1. None of the LCIV companies are doing recruitment from these locations
2. Asks you to provide the following
“you are required to furnish us copy of Active Secret UK Security Clearance/Affidavit of Oath for Terrorism from the British High Court”
These are US Government contracts – there is no way they are going to ask for a United Kingdom Security Clearance – which by the way you can not get unless you are a citizen of the United Kingdom. And oh by the way there is NO SUCH THINGS AS Affidavit of Oath for Terrorism from the British High Court.
Bet the next step is to ask for money. Then they probably tell you that they can not hire you because you do not have the above.

Time to scrape off the Afghani bull off my boots one more time.
Professional headhunters receive a fee from the company that employs them. They do not charge the job seeker a fee for solicitation services rendered. Western Union showing up at your door is the classic Nigerian scam such as someone needing your transfer money for someone from a foreign bank account, UK lotto winner before they can process your winnings. Other scenarios apply as well including “Innovative Services.”
I once went along with the UK lotto and was referred to several other different departments for verification, no doubt to confuse my bull detector. Finally at the end of this charade they asked for money as well as information to verify my winnings after Western Union was to arrive to collect the cash and disappear. I felt like I was walking in parade behind the elephant with the chimp with the tin on top with the organ grinder leading the way.
I still haven’t collected my UK lotto winnings and still win about once a week.

Hi Deanne,
I received the same type of mail as you did, with contract papers and duly signed by Dr. Alexander W. Stephen, HR Director and the reporting will be to Mr.Michael Wilson, Head Operation Manager.
I did feel the catch in it, when the contract says that DynCorp will pay for Visa, Ticket, etc, etc and they still insist on GBP 1080/- for Visa/Work Permit to UK to undergo one month’s training and the money would be reimbursed within 48 hours on reaching there.

Ms. Sparky Innovative service is not a recuriting company nor or they affiliated with any company they are single owned company from what I know using a DBA name. I know at least 23 -25 people who used the service whom I worked with or know people who used their service to get a good job. I am not sure why the statement was made I think and this only my opinion the young lady gave incorrect information after I read the article I knew she spoke incorrectly. They were many calls made by unidentified people to check out this company and everytime WE were told they offer a service only nor did they represent any company. I was told or counseled that the same service they offered I could do it for free myself. They did in fact recommend I go to verious websites myself and apply on my own, but I wanted to use their service it would cost the fee they charge of $500 and it was not refundable. The message was very clear I am not sure what others have experienced,but I have only heard of good things about this headhunter service, because that is what in reality they are they get leads and they follow them with no representation to any company.. just my tidbit but there are some companies scamming people I dont believe this to be in this case. I dont feel this company has done anything wrong based on what I know or have heard. I think Ms Sparky you should try and contact them to validate your statement.

Hi, I found out two persons- one from Hyderabad and the other from Kolkata, but the Hyderabad cheater offer is very authentic like, with all the proposal and paperworks alike at par with dyncorps paperwork with every minute details attached and they are charging US Dollars 3233, I am sending the phone no and the attachment to dyncorp corporate security.
It is very true that Dyncorp doesn’t charge any money. the medical charges done personally is reimbursed pretty and the tickets, food and lodging is absolutely from the companies side.The amounts spended is reimbursed in record quick time. I really appreciate the accounts section.

I received an e-mail from a friend forwarding me a job offer by Major Logistics UK.
The content of which is exactly the same I’ve been reading here..Visa application Form for Afghanistan and a contract signed by a certain Alexander W. Stephens.
Because it was sent to me by a very dear friend, I did not think of it been a scam so I did forward the visa application form to the address in London and the information required to the Clifford Chance Chambers and Solicitors….But something was telling me that not everything was right in particular the request by the law firm to send them money to obtain the Active Secret UK Security…bla bla bla.
I reply to the law firm stating that any fee whatsoever would be paid by the Employer (Major Logistics).
To this day no reply from the Law Firm, however I’m a bit concerned about the personal information given (copy of passport, address, telephone number.) Is it best to report it to the proper authorities?

Hi to all.
See every other fraudster will take chances on their own. It is the candidates who are to be aware of the system for employment with the company like dyncorp. I know the system therefore i wont fall prey to anyone who offers me mail like this. Second when the world has become smaller and internet is in your hand you can always check out what is true or what is false and can make a decision for yourself. When Dyncorp International has got their own website then why dont you people apply directly by it. Instead of giving importance to these scam letters and offer. It is very true and simple – the company like Dyncorp and Fluor have strict regulations relating to recruitment. Nothing is whatsoever charged by the company. Not a single penny.
But yes there are many faults with these companies too which is leading many people to be cheated. Company policy is not widely known is the cause no. 1 and second cause is the recruitment via mail and internet (this is the main cause. The website and the system is well known to these people and is known to all and those chance hungry money mongers are always on the prowl. First thing is that Dyncorp does not have an office of their own in India (I am talking about India only. They are dependent on the recruiters which they are recruiting to supply them manpower. The Dyncorp people or HR Section is going through the papers only to recruit only whereas no physical interviews are done. when selected without physical interview they are then told by mail to contact some numbers where english aptitude test will be taken online little these dyncorp people know that a proxy can be always used for the persons who is not good in english and that is happening on regular basis from India. Once okayed they move on to Delhi where they are made to fill up their forms physically but surprisingly they are not interviewed personally only a little briefing time to time is done and medicals are done, when they are declared fit they move on to their work site. I have personally seen and know many people who suppose is a cook or from kitchen itself, when they came to know that there now no vacancy in kitchen they applied for the another post in which they dont have any experience yet they are being employed. I challenge the company to check all the candidates who is presently employed with dyncorp in the post of Warehouseman, Senior Warehouseman, Transport Coordinator, Help Desk, Data entry Operator and in Hr section also, ninety percent of those candidates are not from that field itself yet they are enjoying to be employed with such a big name and drawing regular salary. I have substantial proof to challenge this claim. The company never bothers to check the certificates or the authenticity of the experience papers of the candidates. These candidates whoever have traveled and joined Dyncorp cannot draw more that 300-500 dollars in Arab country are earning 1500 to 4000 dollars in Dyncorp. I dont know what the company policy is- maybe they have enough money to waste on inexperience and cheater candidates and is less interested to adsorb good and quality candidates by whose efforts the company will shine. If you ask all the staffs of dyncorp – Are they satisfied with the job a big NO will slap our face. They are just working to make some quick big bucks in a span of 4-5 years. This cannot go on ultimately dyncorp is going to go down the drain. Just take fluor for an example, they have their own site since long and the application process is so long and complicated there is a lesser chance for brokers and recruiters to barge into their system and get their candidates employed so easily like dyncorp. To flourish and get good and capable candidates Dyncorp has to conduct interviews under their own gloves otherwise this kind of scan is never going to stop whatsoever.

This appears to be legitimate. That is Dyncorp’s web address. The email address seems legit.
My advice to you is go ahead and respond. DO NOT send any money for Visa’s, airfare, processing etc, even if they claim they will reimburse you. The first clue it is NOT legit will be when they ask you for money for something or for a credit card number. A legitimate company is reimbursed for those costs and don’t need you to pay them up front.
I do have to question the single room accommodations in Afghanistan. That doesn’t sound right.

Can anyone confirm me whether Mr. David Henry the Worldwide Recruiting Manager is still with Dyncorp being incharge for Asia and Africa I think. He was the only honest person whom I have ever met. Rest I dont know about the other recruiter. Now the bribing has started even in their Delhi office under the very nose of the HR now. People are paying 3000-3500 dollars to get the job done and they are travelling. Not everyone some of the guys are also going for free from Delhi. Had Mr. Henry been there it was impossible for anyone to take this kind of advantage. This is the reason why I appreciate him. He tried his best to do good for the company. I hope he is still in control.

Now there is a recruitment drive going on for KBR in Dum Dum- Kolkata and the local broker is ANUPAM who is taking more or less 3000 dollars and I am interested to know whether the company knows anything about this. If the company people want to know anything about this then I am willing to help them out with an investigation if they wish to do one. I personally want to stop this kind of recruitment drives which is done illegally and put people life in jeopardy.
Why cant the companies go directly to any country and conduct the interviews on their own- why are they so dependent on the local recruiters and local brokers. Why are these companies giving chances to get people cheated of huge amount. I want to know why cant they do this on their own. This is my most important questions.

There is one more incident happening with relation to recruitment from Kolkata, West Bengal – India. A local broker by the name of Anupam is collecting people to be placed with KBR and he is charging 2500-3000 us dollars for the same. I want all in charge of KBR to stop this kind of practices which he is doing since long and thus cheating many people.If you need this local non licenced broker telephone number and address for investigation then plz. ask for it

Yes you can go to Delhi and contact the Recruiter and mind it the company never charges any moneyh but brother you know if there is an Indian like us on the top then he might have placed a broker who will surely ask for charges. If not then you are lucky. Because I have come to know from South India that someone is charging 2-3 lakhs from candidates coming from the south. Off course the middle man knows and wont divulge anything. Till mMr. David Henry was there in control everything was alright now it has started to rot in Dyncorp Delhi Office and Dubai Office too.
when are these top shot from Dyncorp going to learn. shall I teach them how to stop bad practices and yet to draw big salaries and brag about so many things.

3) U.S. OR British Active Secret Security Clearance certificate
4) Affidavit of Oath for Terrorism Certificate from the British High Court declaring not to indulge in any terrorist crime.
5) Court Guide Certificate.
Due to you’re been assigned to work in British Military Base in Libya, this Court Guide Certificate is an agreement between you and the government of UNITED KINGDOM incase of any incident such as death during your one year contract in the war zone, that they will take good care of your family.
For employee without a current U.S. OR British Active Secret Security Clearance certificate and Affidavit of Oath for Terrorism Certificate from the British High Court declaring not to indulge in any terrorist crime and Court Guide Certificate, are advice to contact MERLIVER CHAMBERS for easy procurement of the papers from the British High Court because you’re been assigned to work in British Military Base in Libya.
