Resume advice for LOGCAP job seekers
A resume is similar to gourmet cooking which is defined as “Good food prepared simply”. Ask any chef in the world, and they’ll tell you the same thing – it’s all about presentation.
Similarly, when applying for a LOGCAP position, you may be the most qualified applicant within a field of candidates, but if you don’t showcase your experience in a manner that fully communicates your qualifications, you will quite often be passed over in favor of an applicant who may be less qualified, but has a prettier resume.
Can you answer these questions correctly:
What are the 3 most important things in real estate?
Answer:
- Location
- Location
- Location
What are the 3 most important things in a resume?
Answer:
- Presentation
- Presentation
- Presentation
This universal truth applies whether you’re applying for an entry level labor position, a management position, or a technical position – no matter how experienced, or how well qualified you may be, if you don’t present your knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA’s) in a manner which sets you apart from the rest of the crowd, you will just get lost in the resume shuffle.
You must ask yourself: “Why would a recruiter be interested in making a job offer to me as opposed to the next guy? What makes me so different? What distinguishes me from the rest of the crowd?”
Thinking about working in Afghanistan? Take a Look at These 5 Crucial Points.
If you’re looking for high-paying work as a military or civilian contractor and have no issues about working in a region that is higher than normal risk, Afghanistan should never be far from your considerations. But what are some of the reasons that well-paying, high-value contracts still exist there? I’ve rounded up 5 ways that working in Afghanistan will continue to remain viable.
#5: Pakistan is The Key.
At the moment, there is a big north American push on Pakistan, whose secret service and government has been responsible (indirectly) for funding a lot of the mess that has gone on in Afghanistan (depending on who you talk to). As Pakistan comes around to the US-centered point of view, it will create further opportunity in Afghanistan due to the massive changes Pakistan can enact.
#4: The Afghanistan Election Results.
Sadly, democratic elections in Afghanistan are still something that we’ll have to hope for in the future — a lot of money was spent just getting to where we’re at now, and a lot more will be spent — and further jobs created — as we try and make future elections (or re-dos) much fairer.
#3: The US Government Continues to Deploy Contractors.
While political fortunes might actually rise and fall on the fate of Afghanistan — and not just in the USA, but also with some key allies — there are decisions being made about the country that are not going to be ultra-popular among the media. These include the fact that more contracts are going to be created there, because the infrastructure and future planning demands it. That’s important for you.
#2: There is No Way Anyone Can Suggest The Job is Done.
It’s a sad fact that Afghanistan has been the ‘forgotten’ war for so long, but now that the situation in Iraq has slightly calmed down, eyes have returned to the original focus. This war has now gone on longer than both World Wars (in terms of American involvement), and sadly nothing has been fully resolved. This means further engagement for some time.
#1: Pay Should Continue to Remain Quite High.
There’s no point dancing around the subject — working in Afghanistan is subject to much higher risks than other places in the world. But as a result, pay will continue to remain at a strong level as long as the risks are there. Situations might change when the country seriously stabilizes, but right now the US government has basically accepted that Afghanistan represents a seriously high — and unavoidable — cost for the foreseeable future.

Is this guy for real? $75!? Just to reformat a resume?! I think he’s broke, desperate, and while he may actually know what he says, why not just publish the info for free?
Anyone else smell a scam? Anyone can claim to be anyone on the
internet…. and the whole article on the website is just way too long, like he wants so bad for you to believe you need to give him your money.
I would buy into it, but I’ve been burned by BS like this before. If anyone can claim this is legit, I’d like to know… and while you’re at it, why not post that magic resume format in a forum for free.
Saturday, February 13th 2010 at 6:39 am |
I checked him out. $75 is not an unreasonable price for a resume service. Why shouldn’t he publish it for free? It’s not a free service. Do you work for free? He is not making any promises to get you a job or to take your non-experience and make you more than you are. You just can’t make a silk purse out of a sows ear. He is offering to assist in the process. No more no less. There are many services out there who charge much more than $75 for much less. So…if it doesn’t suit your needs “click out”
If you are truly a Marine….thanks for serving.
Saturday, February 13th 2010 at 6:51 pm |
What does check him out mean? That doesn’t cut it for me. I need specifics.
What is there to help out with? The process is you post your resume and wait and apply and wait. I can re-format my own resume pretty quickly and it’s easy enough for anyone to do, so I still don’t buy into charging for something that is this simple.
What’s the real deal here anyhow? My indentions should be four spaces instead of five? I’m using the wrong symbols? I should be using a special font? Do they want it pasted into excel, then make a power point presentation out of it? Do they want a pdf, jpg, doc, or txt file? You name it, I can make it happen.
What really brought the flag up for me is not a single common mistake is listed… Such as perhaps spacing, or file type. If I’m paying for a service, I want to know what’s going to be done… And this guy doesn’t list one specific thing he’s going to fix. What if I have everything just as it needs to be? I would bet there’s no refund.
I am a Marine and I very much believe in helping and serving anyone I can whether or not I get paid. A service like this isn’t something anyone should pay for, unless perhaps it was a class on how to do it yourself. Whether this guy is who he says he is or not, it’s still morally dishonest to play like a certain resume format needs to be a secret that you have to pay for, enough so that it’ll stay a secret, and this guy can run a technically legit, thanks to the no garantee you will get hired clause, business from playing on peoples emotions and desires. It’s no better than the Nigerians, except this guy just might be a fellow American and you might actually get something after you pay.
I appriciate being allowed to voice my opinion.
Of cousre people are going to remark on my Chesty Puller comment… But why not challenge anyone else’s identity? I don’t trust anyone on the Internet… At all. I do all my business face to face, for the most part… So it would be with this guy. If he has a secret, I want his address and I’ll put in the effort to turn in my resume in person.

Marine
First let me thank you for your service to our country.
Now let me give you a lesson in the Civilian world.
Reformating your resume does not refer to 4 or 5 spaces. It is a proven fact that in this world there are hot buttons, buzz words and certian things that make one more attractive to an employer.
You have to realize that the recruiters from these companies have probably never been in any services. What looks good on a Fit Rep may mean nothing to them.
It is really not uncommon for people in the civilian world to pay to have to have their resumes rewritten – ie reformated – to make them more appealing to prospective employers.
Truely, $75 is not an outrageous fee. Most resume services I have seen charge between $100 – $150. Besides that you can write this charge off of your income tax as job hunting expenses.
I have not doubt that you have great experience, the best of intentions and really know what you do best, but really maybe that is not writing a resume that will get attention.
Are you aware that there are people that pay upt to 15% of their salary to headhunters to get them jobs.
You don’t have to use this service – common mistake let’s go back to the really old one – you have been a housewife for 10 years and not worked outside the home. Gee does that sound good – no but how about if you became a Domestic Engineer in charge of logistics, procurement and facilities.
Like I said – no one is forcing you to use this persons service – so why do you feel that you have to make it seem like a scam
Saturday, February 13th 2010 at 7:30 pm |
Because I want the job.
And I do know a thing or two about writing a very professional resume… I’ve gotten a lot of compliments from vairous businesses and questions of who put it together.
Now, let me give you a lesson even some Marines don’t understand…
Once a Marine, always a Marine. The way I see it, I’m just doing part of my job by trying to ensure the people I risked my rear end over aren’t getting screwed in the wallet.
I don’t see enough information on the website to convince me, an experienced BS investigator, that this person is legit… And I’ll keep at it until I get the information I want. The whole reason this is here, FYI, is because my endevors to get my boot in the door lead me to this particular article… And it was very inviting to post my comments.
Saturday, February 13th 2010 at 7:39 pm |
Hey Marine
You do not have to tell me about being a Marine – once and always!!!
I appreciate that you are doing what you belive to be your job! And believe me most of America loves you for it.
I am just trying to point out something that a lot of people who transition from AD to Civ have a hard time with – it is a whole different world. Things that are important and mean a lot on active duty are just not understood by the majority of the civ world.
I got ya buddy and trust me I would not try to lead you into a SNAFU. If I can help you transition in anyway I give Ms. Sparky permission to give you my email.
Semper Fi!!!
Saturday, February 13th 2010 at 7:48 pm |
Thank You.
I transitioned pretty good, but I got screwed pretty good over two years ago… Which is why I’m even considering doing anything that would put me back in harms way. I’ve picked up a bit of a mercenary tinge, and I’d do a lot to get back ahead in the money game, like I was when I was fresh off active duty.

Saturday, February 13th 2010 at 7:56 pm |
Umm – sounds like you might have gotten mixed up with the BW boys. And Lord knows working overseas as a contractor is probably the best way to get ahead in the $$ game.
You can ask Ms. Sparky for my email. I transistioned 20 years ago and have had a great contractor career.
I will help if I can.
By the way I assume that you were talking about the General and not the Bull Dog – right?
Saturday, February 13th 2010 at 7:44 pm |
Sean it this you – if so let me know
Saturday, February 13th 2010 at 7:41 pm |
Headhunters?!?!? I frikin work under a moron who did that… And for a company that used them to find the moron! Talk about stupid! Geez.. Some people make me feel like maybe I’m the moron for not lowering my personal integrity standard and actually knowing how to do my job without a moron director appointed over me! That’s gettin personal and a bit off topic, but I didn’t want to take the chance that someone might think I don’t know enough to be making a huff-a-puff about this guy and his secret LOGCAP 4 resume format.
Saturday, February 13th 2010 at 7:48 pm |
Please ask Ms. Sparky for my email. I would really like to communicate with you. You should NEVER lower your personal integrity – God knows that is the problem with lots of contractors today.
That said – I think you need a lets say transition sponsor to get you into the contractor world.
I won’t charge you a thing
Saturday, February 13th 2010 at 8:44 pm |
OUT-STANDING!!!!
I try to send a message to Ms Sparky and I keep getting a fatal error message.
SO, Ms Sparky, would you send me the appropriate e-mail addresses to belong to whom have indicated they are interested in personally communicating with me?
Also, (for Ms Sparky) hope I can be forgiven (and corrected) if I seem to get out of line. I may come across as harsh when I make a stand on an issue but I am light hearted and do not mind sporting comments, and will often sport back if not too offensive.
It may humor some to know that I am painstaking doing this all via iPhone.
Sunday, February 14th 2010 at 5:51 am |
Fatal error? I will have to check that out. I am getting other emails from the site.
No apologies necessary. If I feel a reader is nipping a bit too harshly, I’ll bite back!! I am sending you an email. with the info.

Bruce Diggs is top notch if you ask me. I paid the $75 and received an awesome resume. If you would do your own research you will find he is the real deal. $75 is a great investment on a $100k job.
Saturday, July 10th 2010 at 3:37 am |
Do the math.
An original investment of $75.00 with a return of $100,000?
That is a 133,233.3% ROI. Not bad.
Saturday, July 10th 2010 at 11:21 am |
Oh come on now!
Tuesday, June 15th 2010 at 8:47 am |
Hello there! This is another former Marine. Semper Fidelis gentlemen! I am also interested in LOGCAP employment after serving greater than 25 miserable years in the civilian industry’s corporate dung pile. I’ve had enough and have to make a change. I’ve just had my resume revised and reformatted by Bruce Diggs the owner of “LOG CAP 4 Jobs” and I can tell you this much… the resulting product is top notch! Way more than my expectations for the nominal price of $75.00.
I had previously been in contact with other job sites, “the ladders” to name one, and the majority of their resume services fees were over $700.00 for reconstruction and reformatting! So you can imagine my skepticism when I was told the fee was just $75.00 (the price of a good bottle of Single Malt Scotch Whisky these days). What the hell I said, I’ll drink the cheap stuff if this turns out to be a bad investment.
After receiving the finished product I can honestly say that is the best $75.00 that I’ve spent in a long time. A night in Bangkok back in ’73 comes to mind, but that’s a different story.
Mr. Diggs is a highly experienced and knowledgeble LOGCAP professional and an excellent source for a wealth of information regarding all aspects of the LOGCAP environment.
I highly reccommend Mr. Diggs and his resume service at LOG CAP 4 Jobs to anyone similar to myself who is just starting out in the search for LOGCAP employment opportunities and needs or wants professional assistance in order to further their employment prospects.
Sincerely,
A.S. Burkett (aka “Charcoal”, USMC 1972-1975

Ms Sparky,
This guy is playing you like a tin nickle. Please allow the posts and let your readers decide on his worthiness. He can’t give you any info which would put his neck on the line. I hope you’ve read these 78 posts and agree
Saturday, July 10th 2010 at 6:56 pm |
In all seriousness, I haven’t had one single negative response from any resume that Bruce has done. That’s the truth. He is providing a service at a very reasonable price. If I had received one complaint about his work I would have followed up on it. But I haven’t. And just so we are clear I have never met Bruce in person, never worked with Bruce and I do not receive any compensation for referring anyone to him. So….there’s nothing in it for me one way or the other.
Saturday, July 10th 2010 at 7:49 pm |
No one is calling your integrity into question Ms. Sparky. You are just being played by a fraud. This guy can’t write an e-mail much least write resume…this I have proof of. But yet, he’s in Thailand with his “wife” and family living the so called good life making a buck off of all the corruption going on? This is Mr. Diggs and nothing more…sorry Bruce but your scam is up.
Saturday, July 10th 2010 at 7:53 pm |
Playing Devil’s advocate here, there are a lot of former KBR employees and Americans in general living in SE Asia. The cost of living is lower and the USD goes a lot further. I even considered it at one time.
Saturday, July 10th 2010 at 7:51 pm |
So THERE! (Insert rasberry here).
Saturday, July 17th 2010 at 5:19 am |
I too was a bit leery of spending the money being unemployed, but I was not getting any responses with my current resume for a logcap position. My back ground was big box retail management. I knew my current resume was great for retail (lots of interviews, no offers), but wasn’t cutting it for logcap. Bruce took my resume and created one for Logistics based on my expierence. After a few revisions, it was outstanding. It did generate one interview for logcap with KBR but I also used it locally for shipping/receiving/logistics. Bruce’s resume generated 5 interviews in 8 weeks and yesterday I just accepted a mangement position at a distribution center for a huge retailer. What most people don’t understand is no one really reads resumes. Applicant tracking software scans the submitted resumes for key words and thins the 1000′s of resumes received down to a managable amount. (Do a web search on the topic). Then a live person looks at that very small pile. The resume Bruce did was formatted to get by the software and into that small pile. He doesn’t gaurantee a job or an interview, but I would never have gotten this job using my retail manager resume and I had no real idea of what was needed in a resume for logistics–Bruce did and it worked. For $75 bucks, it was well worth having another tool in the tool box for my job hunt. If you think its a scam-great, one less person someone else has to compete with.
Thanks again Bruce.
Don

P.S. Oh yeah… Almost forgot to add, I’m Chesty Puller.
Saturday, February 13th 2010 at 6:47 am |
Unlikely you are Chesty Puller. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chesty_Puller
Or did you mean “Chesty Poler” a famous stripper/dancer at various “gentleman’s” clubs around the country. And I use the term gentleman loosely!
Saturday, February 13th 2010 at 8:53 pm |
Yes, General Puller.
And as anyone can now plainly see by the wiki link… He is long dead.
May he rest in peace, if that’s even an option for us!
Friday, July 9th 2010 at 6:48 pm |
Ms Sparky, you caught him dead to rights on this. Would I “ban” any further comments about this bogus service? I don’t know but, I do know you should call him out and edit or put a disclaimer about his fraud. He’s the same type guy you are against in all your blogs. He never helped anyone, semi-cursed at people and was what you write about on the dishonesty of LC IV/3 folks. I really hope you believe me on this. This guy is sipping a Tequilla with his underaged Thai friend laughing. He’s not a nice guy at all.
Saturday, July 10th 2010 at 6:59 pm |
If I’m not mistaken he told me he was married and had a family in Thailand. Seriously, you are the only one to make a negative comment.
Sunday, February 14th 2010 at 1:48 am |
My! My! My! That was a spirited discussion!
Sorry I couldn’t get in on it earlier!
And Marine is absolutely 100% correct in that there is no “secret” format per se.
It isn’t about utilizing a chronological, functional, or combination format.
It isn’t about tabs, indentions, margins, font or physical aspect, which is not to say those considerations have no bearing on the quality assurance process to some degree, much as one would want to ensure you subject your resume to a spelling and grammar check.
It is simply about one’s ability to articulate your experience in a meaningful way – which is what some people, can use a hand with. That’s where I step in to assist people in addressing that issue.
??? said it perfectly with “- common mistake let’s go back to the really old one – you have been a housewife for 10 years and not worked outside the home. Gee does that sound good – no but how about if you became a Domestic Engineer in charge of logistics, procurement and facilities.
I’ve extended an invitation for Marine to forward a “sanitized” version of his resume (minus names, dates, etc.) to me in order that I may assist if possible, and I’ve gone out on a limb by making him an offer I’ve never made to anyone before – if he isn’t sufficiently impressed with the results, it’s GRATIS.
There is one small matter regarding reputation management I would like to clear-up just for the record here, and that is that when contacted, I encourage people to forward their resume to me in order for me to review it first, and then let them know if I can help BEFORE they submit their order.
I understand that everyone has a different comfort level.
In fact, I do regularly issue refunds in cases where upon review, it is my opinion that a resume is perfectly fine and in no need of further enhancement.
I would also like to say that it is gratifying to see everyone come to the defense of my professional reputation which to this point, had never been called into question before.
Priceless.
I do agree however, to give my knowledge away free and clear for the betterment of humanity if I come-up with a perpetual energy device.
Sunday, February 14th 2010 at 8:40 am |
I can attest to the fact that your are not charged if your resume is good as it is. I sent my resume for review and got back an email that said it was Good and did not need any changes.
Sunday, February 14th 2010 at 2:09 am |
Sail are you also posting as “???”, and I hope you are not. It just seems strange that the posts by these two “Posters” are always very similar and just happen to be within minutes of each other. Also, “DCAA Auditor” can be thrown in the hat with the sail and “???”.
Have a good day Sail, no “???”, no “DCAA Auditor” or who ever you are.
2 Cents

The true test is Gratis based upon no mentioned of revisions after client review, or did I miss that one in the express warranty of service in small print. Perhaps you could display a small sample of your resume skill set online for those who wish to enlist your service.
I do like the fact your site doesn’t promise a job as a result of your service. This alleviates the problem of those who tend to quickly read through the list of services provided and hope you’re an employment agency.
A resume wash is always recommended for seeking employment. Quality is what you pay for value is what you receive.
Sunday, February 14th 2010 at 4:53 pm |
Baboo
Read up – I actually sent him my resume for review.
This is the exact response I received
“Your resume needs no improvement what-so-ever! And do not let anyone try to tell you it does!”
There was no charge. So I guess you could say it was in fact Gratis.

Add some moral courage, a dash of initiative, and a pinch of responsibility to something greater than yourself, and you’ve have an Out-Standing recipe for an elite, or at least somewhat uncommon individual in today’s society, especially in America.

I feel vindicated, grateful, and humbled by your kind words.
Here is a little something in regard to “Before and After” resumes.
Before:
Joe Dirt
123 Main St.
Anytown, USA
Job Experience:
Dirt Werx
Position: Head Ditch Digger
Responsibilities:
Dig ditches. Write down what I did at the end of the day and give it to the boss. Get ready for the next job.
After:
Joe Dirt
123 Main St.
Anytown, USA
Professional Experience:
Dirt Werx
Position: Head Ditch Digger
Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate with Operations in developing a short range look-ahead schedule for excavation projects.
1. Conduct onsite survey of proposed project to determine personnel assets, tools and equipment required for the job.
2. Coordinate with Safety Department in identifying potential hazards and mitigation measures to be utilized.
3. Coordinate with Transportation Department and submit a TMR (Transportation Movement Request) in advance of project.
4. Conduct AHA (Activity Hazard Analysis) and TSTI (Total Safety Task Instruction) prior to beginning work, ensuring all personnel are wearing required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
5. Ensure work site is safely secured at the end of operation each day if project is to carryover.
6. Generate and submit daily SITREP (Situational Report) to Department Supervisor.
7. Conduct OJT (On-the-Job Training) and coordinate specialized training with new employees on equipment and assets required to safely perform their job.
8. Coordinate with Maintenance to ensure PMS (Preventative Maintenance Schedule) is performed on all equipment according to manufacturer’s recommended hourly usage and/or calendar parameters.
9. Delegate tasks to subordinate personnel and carry-out other duties as assigned by Department Supervisor.
Hope this helps in providing some clarification about presenting ones KSA’s (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) in a manner relevant to ones experience. All of the sample bullets above could be expounded upon as well.
Keep in mind that a good resume isn’t about using flowery words, or merely stringing together key words, action verbs, or phrases – a recruiter is going to see right through such superficiality, and view it as either an attempt at subterfuge and deception – as if you have something to hide – or, that the person just doesn’t know what they’re talking about.
As an example, if you’re a Truck Driver, say you’re a Truck Driver – not a Freight Relocation Specialist or similarly misleading and inaccurate job title. Always employ the KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) method, but remain cognizant of the fact, that as in the above example, simplicity can and should reflect who you are professionally and what you can bring to the table for a potential future employer. Use good descriptors, and you can’t go wrong.
Quite often, I receive comments from clients who after reviewing their finished resume project, are amazed at the talent they have and use everyday on the job, but just didn’t know how to express it
Questions, comments, complaints, or alibis are always welcome, as progress is a process – not perfection, never static or remaining still, but continually moving forward, improvising, adapting and overcoming, within the extremely contingent, fluid and dynamic, high operational tempo environment of LOGCAP.
Hey – it’s a job and somebody’s gotta do it.
Monday, March 1st 2010 at 7:51 pm |
I have taken the plunge to see what you can do with my husbands resume for a promotion to foreman. Sent and paid for!
Sunday, February 14th 2010 at 6:46 pm |
Ok, to cap this off…
Thank you to all, especially Ms Sparky and Mr Diggs. I am awaiting to here how my resume is and have agreed to pay for service if it can be improved.
I no longer question if Mr Diggs or the website is legit. However, to someone who has seen nothing but seemingly one scam after another for the past I don’t know how many years, it did come across on the borderline of too good to be true, and the no garuntees of job placement and the whole admission of not being in America only added to suspicion and the number of the qualities of an experienced Internet scam artist.
Not true here though. Mr Diggs has proven, as best as possible given the circumstance, that he is true to his word and offer. I would recommend anyone wanting to get involved with current LOGCAP operations should consider the services offered at the website listed in the above article as a very solid starting point, and of course to expect nothing beyond what is garanteed as specified. It is a good offer.
Sunday, February 14th 2010 at 7:20 pm |
He must be feeling like a circus clown right about now because I made him jump through quite a few hoops before I would let him write for MsSparky.com or offer his services here. But he had the personal experience with LOGCAP and seemed to have an affordable service that Ms Sparky readers might benefit from. So I gave him a go. NOt to mention he has a wicked sense of humor. Glad you’re happy.
Friday, July 9th 2010 at 6:59 pm |
Don’t feel bad Ms. Sparky. There are some half truths and more lies he told you which would have sounded legit. The guy worked the Balad HR record room and stole personnel files on people before he left. His tenure at Flour was nothing more than unspectacular and they let him go as well. He played you just like he “hurt” a lot of people who he was in charge of processing in at Anaconda. His experiences in contracts are minimal in nature. He was on the verge of being fired at Balad and he used a fraudulent resume and used it as his own to get hired by Flour. Flour quickly let him go after 5 or 6 months of his shenanigans.
Saturday, July 10th 2010 at 7:00 pm |
No one has played me. That is a serious claim. Do you have proof of that.
Saturday, July 10th 2010 at 7:45 pm |
Ah HAH! If you listen long enough, people will tell you everything you want to know! LOGCAP employers check a persons job history from top to bottom, so it is therefore impossible to submit a fradulent resume or application and get away with it. And what’s this about Fluor “letting me go” after 5 or 6 months? If you claim you know as much about me as you say you know about me, which was it 5 months, or 6 months? It was neither! Not even close! Liar-liar pants on fire!
Saturday, July 10th 2010 at 7:48 pm |
It’s been a while since I heard that one!
Saturday, July 10th 2010 at 8:27 pm |
Oh, Bruce you mean the $9.99 background check you sneaked on? That’s all over. As for your SF 86??? I highly doubt, and Ms Sparky can probably confirm, if your married to a foreign spouse it would take eons to get approved if, at all. Liar, Liat pants on fire…is that what they say?
Sunday, February 14th 2010 at 6:49 pm |
I’d like to see the spin for a KBR Sanitation Engineer. I think you can take it from here. Maybe consider posting Dirt Wurks sample as a link to your site for client sample.
Sunday, February 14th 2010 at 7:02 pm |
Let me give that one a try from memory
Sanitation Engineer
1. Planned daily route for all Honey Trucks so as to make sure that they made as much noise possible in the middle of the night in the residental area.
2. Conducted on site surveys to ensure that only the usable items were picked up daily while ensuring that the realy trash was left on site as long as possible.

Ms.Sparky, Glad to find you. Spending many hours on the computer, moving into a new career. After 25 years, owning my own construction company. You know, the depression! Oh, I’m sorry the recession. Discovered Fluor Corp. LOGCAP, sending in my resume, applying for open positions. Not written a resume, lately. After reading these comments, will contact Mr. Diggs for resume help.
I trust your recommendation, Thank you,
I’ll keep you all updated.
Evan
P.S. Good luck Marine, let us know, how it all works out for you

Ya’ll remember that old saying, “you gotta spend money to make money”? For anyone that has ever posted a resume for a job that you know is right for you and then wonder why you get a response……..ever, you need to contact Bruce for a resume rescue!
This guy knows his stuff! Bruce re-worked my “professionally” done resume and let me tell you $75.00 is very reasonable.
Need your resume quickly?? Again, the turn around time is great. I contacted him this past Thursday, we swapped a few emails, and today, I recieved my resume back for review.
How’s that for a quick turn around??
Overall, I am very happy with Bruce’s work on my resume, and I’m confident that I’ll be hearing back from a recruiter pretty soon!

Thank you Cathy.
Testimonials like yours make my day, and with your permission, I would like to share some thoughts with others who may be considering using my service.
In the highly competitive environment of LOGCAP, it is crucial to have an exceptionally well crafted résumé comprised of several essential elements, the corner-stone being an exceptionally strong branding statement, custom designed to grab and hold the attention of the recruiter for those first golden 7 seconds. That’s about the same amount of time it took to read this far, and it can make you, or break you.
Once you’ve got the recruiter’s attention, continue building their interest using unique descriptors conveying who you are professionally and what you bring to the table for a prospective employer – follow through with quantifiable accomplishments which put icing on the cake, and voilà! – You’ve got an unstoppable, power-house pièce de résistance résumé, certain to standout from the rest of the crowd, delivering a coup de grâce to a competitor wannabe.
“Milktoast” résumés, (meaning – easily dominated; extremely mild; ineffectual; namby-pamby; wishy-washy), plus a buck three seventy five will get a person a regular sized café latte at Starbux (sic), but it won’t buy them the time of day with a recruiter.

Can I send you my resume to have it checked? I have 2-3 different versions but not sure which works better. How do I email you?
Thank you!

Hey Bruce,
Do you know of any websites for LOGCAP or overseas jobs that are for real, with real jobs,
that don’t require a membership fee?
I am already using the FLUOR website
Any others?
Thanks, again for the professional resume!

Finding the most recent information about LOGCAP contractors, current contracts, contracts out for bid etc., can be a daunting task requiring hours of time consuming, exhaustive research. It can be done, but it can also become a full time job in order to do it right. I recommend you consider using the services of a company designed to conduct the research for you.
Remember money is time, and time is money.

Does anybody know if there is a way to fill out the SF85 and send it in personally to the office of personnel management or whoever the people are that do the investigation instead of waiting to get called by a recruiter and having that company do it. This way it would already be approved?
Sunday, February 28th 2010 at 6:06 pm |
I am no SF 85 resident expert, but to the best of my knowledge, SF 85′s and 86′s must be submitted by the hiring authority sponsoring the candidate.
Anyone?
Sunday, February 28th 2010 at 8:50 pm |
RE:SF86
You are correct, in regards to be submitted by the hiring authority sponsoring the candidate.
Please note re: (SF86) You have a (2) year in-active status after your leave your employer. Your new employer can request the federal government to automatically reactivate your SF86 clearance within the (2) year period.
If your new employer requires a SF86 clearance for your position after a (2) year inactive status, you are required to provide updated information and submitted and approved by the Federal Government through hiring authority sponsoring the candidate.

You can use the goverment software EPSQ to start you SF 85, work history and address, matching with no gaps and the only refrences accepted are with US mailing address even for the question, “person who knows you” its a start, To get prepared and be prepared have good work address phone nunbers and refrences that will take the time to answer the phone or return a mailed out questionaire. Service Employess International for KBR with the Dubai address and VOIP phone as well as a PO box is what i used some tried to use KBR address in Houston but was rejected and needed to be redone. The Flour process is much different than KBR and the requirements to have actual completed backrond checks on all hired kinda makes it a slower process.
Monday, March 1st 2010 at 5:46 am |
If you worked for SEII/OAS for KBR in the Middle East you can’t use KBR Houston as an employment reference. You didn’t work for them. I published the Verification of Information (VOE) for KBR and Dyncorp (I’m still trying to verify Fluors)

I just have to give the “logmaster” his props. I drafted my husbands resume for a promotion and HR said it was lame and turned him down for the job. I sent it to Bruce at around 10:30 last night to re work and a very professional resume was in my inbox this morning when I woke up. No doubt in my mind that this will land my husband his promotion since a bad resume is what he was told was holding him back. Thanks Bruce!
Tuesday, March 2nd 2010 at 7:51 am |
Thanks MW – I feel like I’ve done my job when I hear comments like yours, and I just wanted to mention that while I was working on your husbands resume, it occurred to me that just like new candidates and those seeking to return to LOGCAP, employee’s who are currently on the project and wanting to apply to an IJP (Internal Job Posting), also need to have the very best resume they can possibly have to go along with their application.
It’s also important for potential candidates to remember that a resume needs to be targeted specifically for the position in the IJP that you are going for.
One size fits all won’t even make the first cut when HR staffing begins the qualification process.
Having a bad resume is like being the kid on the playground that has lice in their hair and none of the other kids want to play with.
What WE have to do, is shave your head and get you back on the monkey bars!
Tuesday, March 2nd 2010 at 8:02 am |
You are most welcome and we have found out that a great resume is just as important for internal postings as a new job. I took it for granted that since he was already in theater that the old resume would suffice and that is just not true, at least in our case. Thanks again for your help and efficiency. By the way, when do you sleep? LOL

Bruce, “:LogMaster” really did a professional resume for me, as I note above
See your husband is already working overseas.
Who is he with?
How long has he been with the company?
Any hints on how to get an interview with the recruiter will be appreciated.
Any ideas on how get the job
Please, give me some ideas
Thanks,
Evan

Evan,
He is with KBR and has been there 1 year this month. Actually a little bump from a friend that had just gotten a job and a LOT of persistence on my part got him his job. I am not sure what to tell you about how to get an interview. Do you read the forum on Indeed.com? http://www.indeed.com/forum/cmp/KBR/KBR-Salaries-Bonuses-Benefits/t9293
Tuesday, March 2nd 2010 at 12:34 pm |
NW
KBR working out OK?
Is he in Afghanistan?
So you found someone you could keep contacting, reminding them about your husband’s interest in working for KBR?
An actual person to talk to?
I will check out the indeed blogs
Thanks,
Evan
Tuesday, March 2nd 2010 at 1:59 pm |
KBR is working out just fine for him, he is in Iraq. Like I said before we had a friend who had just gotten a job so we talked to his recruiter because we are in the same line of work he is in.
Go on the indeed forum it is a wealth of information. Post on there what line of work you are in and maybe you will get lucky because at the end of the day that’s how a lot of people get there.

Attention LogMaster:
March 31, 2010
Update:
With all the help of Bruce Diggs, preparing my husband’s resume, in the correct format. Hours and hours searching, applying to International & LOGCAP positions, posting his resume, Evan received a call, interviewed, was hired and 2 weeks later, on a plane to help rebuild Haiti.
Evan and I knew in order to have a chance to be noticed, receive an interview with a quality company and be hired, he first needed a to stand out, through all the online applications. Bruce’s resume for Evan, did just that!
Thank you, so much, Bruce
You’re help was life changing for us!
HINT: Always keep your passport updated, ready to go, traveling can happen FAST – keep ALL personal important items with your carry on + a change of clothes (you’re luggage could get lost for a time, then found, you hope)

Evan & Calico Cat,
That is simply tremendous, and I would like to express my wishes for every continued success.
It is very gratifying and humbling to know that the work I do has a positive ripple effect in benefiting others in some very tangible, and intangible ways.
The reconstruction of Haiti is a humanitarian effort, and I applaud you for your service and willingness to be a part of something so vital.
Congratulations!

Bruce’s handy work on my resume has finally landed me a hit! Although it isn’t one of the LogCap Contractors, it was a headhunter for a major manufacter. They were falling all over themselves to get me to interiew. I have interviewed twice in the last two days! It’s a great position, not exactly what I had in mind, but a good job that pays decently, is a good thing!
Thanks Bruce!

I sent Bruce a compliment about his stories and writing style after I visited his website. I mentioned I had 25 years experience in the field and had worked for KBR in LOGCAP III in Iraq but was having a problem landing a LOGCAP IV job. I was pretty savvy on the way things worked in Iraq with the keyword scanning Bosnians. Bruce took a look at my resume and said it didn’t needed to be change. A lot has to do luck in landing a LOGCAP job. 25 years experience, licenses and certs – I should have been a shoe in. But sometimes your resume just has to be at the right place at the right time. I finally got offered a job by a LOGCAP IV contractor in A-stan last week, I’ve been hitting the LOGCAP IV contractors website ever since they have been up – a little over a year.
The military has seemed to wise up a bit with LOGCAP IV, the background process at least in my job is a lot harder. With KBR and LOGCAP III it was ‘a pulse and a passport’. Hopefully the experience level in LOGCAP IV is a bit higher. Heck, the vast majority of KBR employee who faked their way into their LOCAP III jobs should have enough OTJ experience that they aren’t an embarrassment to work with now.

Sunday, May 9th 2010 at 8:25 pm |
Hello.
I just recently had Mr. Bruce Diggs re-do my resume and I have to say the $75.00 was well worth it. I see such a huge difference on my old resume and the one he created. If I was working in HR/Recruiting department of a company the resume he did for me would catch my attention more than my old resume.
I will defiantly be sure to keep everyone here updated on if I get feedback from companies or if I get hired.
I recommend it to anyone who is serious about getting a job overseas.

Good Luck Jessica!
Bruce re-worked my resume also and I believe it’s the best money I have spent in my job search.
I believe it isn’t so much a particular resume format, it’s the way the resume is worded. And Bruce is very talented in the regard.
While I haven’t landed my LogCap job, I have been contacted by recruiters from other (Non LogCap) International companies.

Hi All! I have an acquaintance in Afghanistan working with Fluor and I waited 6 months to see how things went. She was initially hired with KBR and has already transitioned. I am now interested in applying for administrative type jobs with Fluor. 2009 I made $80k and my company has reduced my pay severely- I will be lucky to make $65k this year. (I’m in sales) Does anyone know if administrative type positions will yield more than $80k yearly?

I wanted a job with KBR,plan and simple,i had the resume to apply, but it did not have the right wording on it. In this day and time,of job loss,low-paying wages, and the competition for what jobs there are,i would highly recommend logcap4jobs.com to write or re-do your resume,it was the best 75.00 i have spent on this goal, and yes,it took 2 weeks, but i got hired. it was a goal of my to attain, and with bruce’s help, and alot of patience, here it is. Thanks Bruce, and to all you nay-sayers who do not want to spend the money to help yourself, wake up!!
It is a tax-deduction ,as all job-related search tools are.

Folks just don’t realize just how important a well written resumes is! Times have changed and it’s not as easy to get a job as it used to be. We have to jump thru so many hoops it isn’t funny!
Bruce did a great job on mine, and he recently updated it for me. I still haven’t gotten a LogCap job, but I recently accepted a position with a international company thanks to Bruce’s handy work!
Times are hard, but if you truely want to improve your chances of landing that LogCap IV job, invest a little money in yourself! Have Bruce work a little magic on your resume! you won’t be sorry!

Many thanks to all for the kind words.
Comments like these are what I live and breathe my professional life for.
Competition for LogCap positions has never been more intense than it is right now.
It used to be if you could stand up-right and had a pulse, you had just as good a shot at getting on the project as the next guy. But those days are long gone.
Setting your sights on a LogCap job these days requires you to formulate and devise a strategy for a marketing campaign, as if you are the product to be sold. You only get one chance at a good first impression, and the quality and presentation of your resume must be 5 Stars if you expect to attract the attention of recruiters, who have become increasingly more discriminating in their choice of applicants.
Your resume is a reflection of who you are professionally, and it must be absolutely flawless.
Let me say that again. Your resume must be absolutely flawless, and must not have one single mistake.
That means no misspelled words. No grammatical errors. No misalignments. No punctuation errors.
Any of these transgressions – even a single missing period at the end of a sentence, can cause you to get passed-over in favor of another applicant who has a resume with no errors.
A well written resume is the cornerstone of a proper job hunt. When you decide to sign up for that safari, make sure you’ve got the right ammunition. It’s a jungle out there.

I wanted to take the time to say that using Bruce Diggs to reveiw and format my resume into Logcap resume was the best thing I could have done. I had been sending resumes out for over a year with no luck no contact nothing. I found info@logcap4jobs.com so I payed the $75.00 cost after a few emails back and forth from Bruce learning more about my background he sent me a draft to proof everything looked great great best resume writing I have ever see and being a former business owner and manager never have seen a resume better done and I have used and I have seen the so called professional resume writers and this blows everyone of them away. I ok’d the proof that was on Sunday morning I sent it off to several contractors had a job offer the very next day and had an offer sheet for a position on that following Wed. I can tell you from experience contact Bruce Diggs let he do your resume it is the best thing you could do for your career.

I am extremely impressed with my resume…. I have paid double the amount in the past to have my resume redone and they all were horrible in comparison to the quality of this resume…. With my experience and this resume I’m sure I’ll be one of the top candidates for a contracting job…. Thanks Bruce!!

I just sent a copy of my resume’s to Bruce and he said he could definitly help seeing that I have IT experience and LOGCAP is searching for IT Pro’s. I’ve paid for the service and just waiting to hear back. I’ll keep you all posted.
Friday, June 4th 2010 at 6:00 am |
Absolutely quick turn around, i thought it would take a week or so but I received my revised resume last night and it is way more than i could have done myself, now if I could get some recruiters to call back
Thursday, June 24th 2010 at 7:27 pm |
After spending some time reading through this and Bruce’s site, I decided to take a chance with Bruce’s services. He was very prompt in his reply and had my resume reworked in less than 48 hours. I was very impressed with his work.
Although I had a decent resume before and prior LOGCAP experience, I was still not getting any bites. I submitted the new resume to several companies local and LOGCAP. Within a week I received a call from a recruiter who gave me a choice of 3 different positions. I am also now under consideration for another position through a different recruiter.
I also had a local interview with the railroad down here and the first thing the hiring manager said when I gave him a copy of Bruce’s worked up resume was “Wow, nice resume”. That made me feel justified in the investment.
For the price Bruce charges, he goes above and beyond. If you are looking for that extra edge, I recommend his service. You won’t be disappointed.
Friday, June 25th 2010 at 1:40 am |
Congratulations Mr. R.!
Success stories like yours provide hope and inspiration for both seasoned LOGCAP veterans and for those making their first run at getting onto the project. With competition the way it is within the LOGCAP job industry – and so many people looking for overseas jobs – the most important aspect of applying for one of these lucrative high paying jobs is to formulate, develop, and implement a well thought out strategy for a job hunt which begins with a power-house resume designed to absolutely crush the competition.
Be like Mr. R – check-out my site at http://www.logcap4jobs.com and get your resume done right!

Thank you very much sir. Whether it is for senior level military professionals, or someone starting-out at entry level, I am guided in knowing that I am only as good as my last resume.
Friday, July 9th 2010 at 8:38 am |
I just got my resume back this morning, like I told Bruce I never I could look so GOOD! I also have previous LOGCAP experience however I didn’t want to do that job again (Food Service) I asked him to create a resume more towards Warehousing, and he did a superb job. I also was skeptical having never used a resume service but I know 75 dollars for his service will land me a job sooner or later (as the old song goes…”Time is on my side; yet it is!”) Plus he’s great at keeping in contact and updating you on where you stand “excellent customer service” also very fast I emailed him on Tuesday and now on Friday Morning I had my resume. Thanks again Bruce

My pleasure Adam. I love it when a plan comes together!
Friday, July 9th 2010 at 5:02 pm |
Okay,
I think it’s now time to call a spade a spade and let the cat out of the bag. First of all, these glowing remarks about Bruce and his service are nothing more than a ploy to get one or two gullible souls hooked into his bull. Bruce is a fraud extraordinaire, a lowly dishonorable discharged navy vet who couldn’t keep a job with Fluor. The resumes he uses are nothing more than the ones he stole from KBR while he worked there as an HR associate; the bottom line of position for his career field. The majority of these “glowing” reviews of his resume or job placement service are nothing more than a deceptive way of sending them in himself. Please do not cater to his nonsense or self promotion. Any one paying for his service his getting ripped off. Bruce is a nice enough person so no attack there but everything else about his experience with LCIV or 3 is total nonsense. Sorry Bruce but stop taking people’s money.
Friday, July 9th 2010 at 5:12 pm |
I really hope this makes the blog Ms Sparky. If you need more information on some this guys activities…see human traficing (Thailand) you’ll now what I’m talking about. Bruce couldn’t get his SF85 approved.
Friday, July 9th 2010 at 6:28 pm |
Has anyone really wondered about the names on the links for these glowing comments about Bruce’s service? Come on now, this guy is using a legit bolgsite for his own ruse of getting rich. Let’s call him out now.
Saturday, July 10th 2010 at 8:06 pm |
You keep telling on yourself! Couldn’t get my SF85 approved? Well, if I couldn’t get my SF85 approved, then somebody REALLY messed up when my SF86 was approved!
Saturday, July 10th 2010 at 8:38 pm |
Okay Bruce, I believe you’ve been exposed enough and I’ll leave it at that. You’re scamming people and I would hope you stop and shut down your pathetic website. It was a nice run but, you’re a fraud preying on real people’s hopes and desires. In my world we call it evil and criminal. Yes, if I must I will keep blogging against you if our good friend Ms Sparky will allow. There are way too many good people paying for your bull, if that’s the right word, for hopes. You have a security clearance?? Wow, tat will be your next ruse. And what’s this about you and Flour? Did I get my months wrong?? Sorry. Please stop, desist and if the GOV gets you, oh well
Saturday, July 10th 2010 at 7:30 pm |
Well, I never!
Saturday, July 10th 2010 at 7:42 pm |
Correct sir, you never got an 85 approved but yet you tell everyone how you know the business of Logcap…there are people who really need help and heck; I’ll do ther eresumes for free if I have to…you on the other hand are committing fraud

I just checked my Contact Us page by sending myself a test email with an attachment and it appears to be working properly. Also, I don’t hire people and I can’t get your hired. You need to apply to the contractor you want to work for at their website.
Good luck

Nope, read back again on Marines postings (which was a bust), and decided to take the plunge with Bruce. Bruce, moneys sent, contact me
Sunday, July 11th 2010 at 11:56 am |
I’ve read the recent postings, questioning Bruce Diggs ability to help create LOGCAP resumes and land jobs.
I will tell you, for a fact, Bruce did revise my resume, give me good advice, respond quickly and I did receive a quality contract position with an gobal company. It’s not LPOGCAP, however most of the professionals I work with are high up retired military.
I know my civilian resume would not have cut it. I needed the chance to prove myself in the world outside civilian work. I’ve learned alot from Bruce’s help. I wish we were all perfect, often we have to use what we know and use it the best way we can to get ahead.
Bruce does help people and deserves to help himself and family!
His resume and advice were very much worth the $75. You do get a quality resume product for the $ you pay. You use this a starting off point. Bruce gives you the tools and head start you need. He points you in the right direction, helps clear the maze of LOGCAP-Global job hunting. I am a real Bruce Diggs client.
Sunday, July 11th 2010 at 6:52 pm |
Your a fool…stop your nonsense Bruce. We are right around the corner! Ms Sparky has great information and your just playing her…stop your nonsense “Evan”
Sunday, July 11th 2010 at 8:26 pm |
Anyone doubting the authenticity of this pro Bruce Diggs comment and it’s truthfullness, that I am a client of Mr.Diggs, is making an unfortunate mistake. You are very wrong aout this one. I won’t waste my time on anymore comments to you, just wanted to set the record straight for the last time. Hope, Bruce is having a nice cool drink in Thailand and a good laugh over this.
I am on the other hand, here in the boring USA, responding to this ridiculous comment.
Monday, July 12th 2010 at 3:43 am |
Just a quick comment regarding Bruce’s resume service. I got my resume back within two days and was quite surprised and impressed. Definately a top quality product, and regardless if you are seeking employment overseas or wherever, I am sure most people could use a review of their resume. I was contacted by a recruiter after reposting the “new” resume to the same job, so there are merits to what Bruce can do for you.
Wednesday, July 14th 2010 at 11:54 am |

Ray, i agree with you, he’s working on mine at the moment and doing a great job, and Bruce always stays in contact and asks plenty more questions to get the Resume’ right, i’m in Afghanistan at the moment, and even though i know a few top level Fluor guys, that dont cut no slack, as it all has to go over the website (bummer).

One of the most formidable challenges faced when writing a resume designed to generate interest from potential employer’s, is taking the transferrable skills which we all posses and illustrating on paper how they match the skills an employer is looking for in an applicant, by expressing those skills in a meaningful, tangible manner.
When evaluating a potential employee, Multi National Corporations (MNC’s) don’t just look at what you can do for them at the moment, rather, they want to know what you can do for them in the future by adding value to the company. Does the applicants work history reflect a commitment to professional development through positions of increasing scope and responsibility? Or are they merely content to put in their time and get a paycheck? Do they possess the attributes shared by all success minded people such as a proven track-record of making significant contributions toward the development of the organization? Or does their resume reveal they are satisfied with going through life on automatic pilot?
There are any number of ways to increase one’s chances of grabbing the next rung in your career progression, one of which is through professional certifications within your chosen career field. Certifications will increase your credibility exponentially, and it will indicate to the employer that you have ambition and drive, that you are highly motivated, truly dedicated. All things being equal, the applicant whose resume personifies commitment to professional improvement is going to win-out over one that does not.
Practical Application:
Back when I was in Afghanistan and transitioned from Truck Driver to Administrative Associate, everybody wanted to know how I did it. How did I manage to get out of the truck? My standard answer was dedication, hard work, and by capitalizing on my experience and education. Here today, in the interest of helping someone out there who may be struggling and looking for answers, I will reveal the method I actually employed.
It was through a combination of burning a candle at both ends by studying at every given opportunity, and continually challenging myself to take the next step toward a destiny which I knew awaited me.
Zen, I know, but hey, I’m just that kind of guy. I would rise early in the morning well before the beginning of my shift and start studying. I carried study material to work and if I had 5 minutes downtime, you would find me somewhere with my nose in a book. I carried flash cards, I listened to audio CD’s while I was driving, and I even used the windshield of the truck as an impromptu white board to iterate and reiterate applicable ideas, concepts, diagrams, charts and formulas.
I sought-out knowledgeable people who were already in positions daily utilizing the subject matter I was so avidly studying, and engaged them in conversation, picking their brain whenever I could, making notes and soaking it all up like a veritable sponge. I was a man on fire and after 3 and a half intense months of this, I went to an authorized testing center while I was on R&R and got my first Microsoft Office Specialist Certification, which was in Word. When I got back from R&R, I put-in for 3 different IJP’s (Internal Job Postings), and immediately got 3 interviews. This occurred after having previously submitted numerous IJA’s (Internal Job Applications) and never receiving a single interview.
Certifications are valuable, carry weight, and I highly recommend them.

I just want to let it be known that I am now sending a second resume to Bruce to rework for my husband. Bruce I am sending you an email right after I type this.

All I can say is that on 5/24 I received my final revision from Bruce and although I only got one interview from KBR, I used that resume locally and landed a fantastic paying job as a distribution center manager for a huge retailer on 7/16. The interviewing manager stated that my resume just “jumped out at him”. You still have to sell yourself, but it got my foot in the door.
Thank you Bruce.
