CPT TURJA – Pathetic waste of time and money. 99% of the time, his vehicle was NEVER inspected prior to entering a camp. He would always whine and cry when others needed him to do anything that took him past his “4 PM” time. Constantly watching the clock. Never good for anything other than drinking coffee that he never made.VERY VERY Seldom made any kind of checks on the FPO’s , unless he was DIRECTED TO.

Lt Schepers -Back doored a job for his wife. Worked in a job requiring a clearance – but did not have one. 6-8 person support staff. Yes he could not manage his time, and things were constantly late or overlooked by him. Acted like a child at numerous times when in this kind of senior position. Blatantly made SSG Zupo’s life miserable and a living hell for no other reason than for personal satisfaction.

SSG Hulin – Never took or passed SSG board, but yet held a slot for it. He would whine and cry also. Very bad temperament for a so called leader. Good worker when he put his mind to it. But seriously lacking in people verbal skills.

you Sir are an Idiot for stating that the support provided to the US Military is detrimental. As with any orginization you have a few so called “bad apples”. The US Military is the Customer for all CSA employess and to be honest withj you I have worked for CSA for nearly 1 year and have had no issues with anyone of the Customers being beligerant. There are many rules and regulations that are set forth by “your” military, and it upsets you that we are the enforcers of those said rules and regulations. So, Sir before you start talking bad about an orginization of close to 3000 personnel. Think about those that do this job every day 14 hours a day and are able to maintain a good attitude for the customer.

In the aftermath of the September 11, 2001, attacks, the Department of Defense (DOD) sent numerous active-duty, U.S.-based personnel to Afghanistan, Iraq, and other destinations to support the global war on terror. These deployments depleted the pool of military security guards at a time when DOD was faced with increased security functions at its U.S. installations. To ease this imbalance, Congress temporarily authorized DOD to waive a prohibition against the use of contract security guards at domestic military installations. Subsequently, DOD has turned to contractors to help fulfill the security guard function at a growing number of installations.

I’m not sure who’s doing the math on this topic. CSA pays it’s employees time and a quarter for all hours worked over 48.
Not sure why 48 instead of 40, but a shift worker puts in a minimum of 60 hours a week and they are paid time and a quarter for all hours worked over 48. Shift workers also receive more vacation hours than those employees who work 48 hour work weeks.
And, they also receive more overtime than those CSA employees working a 48 hour work week.
Security Officers tend to put in more overtime than regular 48 hour employees, and thus make more than the $68K their original contract estimates.
Why are other security companies paying MORE?
Because they are in direct fire zones.
Kuwait isn’t a *hithole where mortor rounds and IEDS are cracking and killing people everyday.
Security Guards are not considered a “Skilled” position.
In the US you’ll not find ANY security guard position paying $68K plus.
Remember, security guards in Kuwait pay no Federal Taxes. (They do pay FICA/MediCaid/MediCare)
So, when you say $68K plus, that’s pretty much what they’re bringing home.
Compare that to a security guard job in the US.
$12.00, may $14.00 an hour for 40 hours a week, 2 weeks vacation after you’ve worked there 5-years.
AND FED TAXES, STATE TAXES and LOCAL TAXES galor!
Plus, CSA employees are provided FREE housing and FREE transportation to and from work.
In the states, you pay for all that.
What’s it cost to rent an apartment now days?
What’s a monthly payment on a car?
Monthly car insurance?
There’s a lot of cost employees are not paying in Kuwait that goes into their paycheck that they’d normally not see in a US paycheck.
PLUS the Kuwaiti Labor Law provides that CSA pay STI, Service Terminal Indemnity.
Depending on how long you’ve worked for the company, that can add up from anywhere to $1,200 to 10,000 extra a year.
AND, security officers ALSO receive INSENTIVE PAY if they stay on the contract.

Might you want to impart the place you’ve gather these “facts”?
I know for a fact that the contract has been divided into 4 parts. One part (the training portion) has already been awarded to Rytheon (who sub-contracted to MPRI).
Two other parts (ASP and one I can’t remember)are to be awarded by the end of October. The K-Bosss, (which is the largest part of the 4 divisions)has not been officially awarded to anyone.
The three companies that are still in the running are AEComm, US4 and IPAT (Not sure about the initials).
Now, I suppose it’s possible ITT is a “silent” partener with one of these companies, but I haven’t found anything to back that up.
CSA itself has nothing to gain in with holding any information as to the posible new contractor or when it is awarded.
So, as of right now, no contractor has been awarded the K-Bosss portion of the contract that I know about.
If you’d like to impart a place that informs us otherwise, I’d appreciate it.

Why would you sign a time sheet that didn’t correctly reflect the hours you worked? CSA pays overtime. They do over time evaluations bi-weekly and submit it to the army. Again, CSA makes NO MONEY on these issues since the contract is a COST PLUS contract, and CSA only gets paid through award bonuses.
Any supervisor that attempts to MAKE you sign a improper time sheet is commiting time card fraud and de-frauding the US government, a criminal offense. Simply refuse to sign it and contact the CSA finace office OR, the army COR, Chief Robinson.
I can’t believe grown men and women are “intimidated” by these want-to-be supervisors that are doing the wrong thing.
CALL THEM ON IT!!!! Stop bitching about it and do something about it if you know you’re being treated wrongly!!

First of all, CSA has a “cost plus” contract. The company’s profit is derived from “award fees” not from charging “per hour”. “Fixed cost” contracting is where the company would “bid” out the labor of a security officer at say, $55.00 an hour, then hire a security officer and pay them $15.00 dollars and hour, the company keeping the remainder of the wage as profit.
Secondly, NO security company in Kuwait is paying officers 100K a year. Iraq? Afghanistan…. maybe possible to get that (doubtful in Iraq now-a-days) but they are still getting shot at over there. No so here in Kuwait, thus, less risk, less money.

Now several “senior” managers say they’ve been in contact with “Rock Island”, and there has been NO awarding of contract for K-Bosss.
That ITT was awarded Q-Bosss and that an email from ITT headquarters was sent out and someone got hold of it, altered Q-Bosss to K-Bosss, and a few other small adjustments, and now this “fake” email is running ramped throughout Kuwait.
Who really knows anymore?

I was wondering when someone would realize the facts and point them out?
Before you come to Kuwait, you’re offered a CONTRACT that clearly states the rate of pay for your offered position and if you’re an FPO (Force Protection Officer) outlines that you’ll be working 12.5 hours a day, 5 days a week and overtime may be required.
The job of FPO is pretty simple really, and many of the FPO’s are simply the “keepers of the Gate”. Looking for the obviouse IED or other prohibited items from entering the bases.
Some of you people are making it sound like this position requires someone from Special Forces to man it.
They sling mirrors.
They’re armed security guards like mall cops.
The idea that CSA Security Forces would be the ultimate fighting force is funny at best. The US Army maintains REACTION FORCES on the bases to respond to attacks made against the base.
The CSA guards are simply the TRIP WIRE.
And according to the many conversations I’ve had with the DCMA and COR, the CSA security forces hasn’t done a bad job.
In 11-years there has NEVER been an ACTUAL attack or explosive device to enter ANY installation guarded by CSA.
Call it lucky or whatever you want, but thats a FACT!
