In an effort to continue to find answers to the senseless electrocution death of Adam Hermanson we keep asking questions and people keep giving us answers. Below are two photos. Both photos are unclassified and pose no OPSEC (Operational ) risk. The photo on the top is a partial map of the International Zone with Camp Olympia noted in the lower left hand corner. The photo on the bottom is a photo of what I believe to be Camp Olympia that I pulled off Google Earth. We need to know, which building Adam Hermanson was electrocuted in. What are the building numbers/designations if any. This very easily could have happened to any person in this camp. We would appreciate your help.

The buildings in this photo look like existing hardstand Iraqi buildings. They do not look new as if they were built with the New US Embassy Complex.

Appeals court sends contractor’s case to court

By ANABELLE GARAY © 2009 The Associated Press
Sept. 15, 2009, 7:13PM

DALLAS — The case of a Texas woman who alleges she was gang-raped by co-workers while working for a military contractor in Iraq will go to court instead of arbitration, a federal appeals court ruled Tuesday.

A divided three-judge panel from the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans ruled Jamie Leigh Jones’ federal lawsuit against Halliburton Co., former subsidiary KBR and several affiliates can be tried in open court.

The companies contended Jones signed an agreement that required claims against the companies to be resolved privately through arbitration.

“This is wonderful news, not only for me but for those who have been bound into mandatory arbitrations,” Jones wrote in an e-mail to The Associated Press.

The AP usually does not identify people alleging sexual assault, but Jones’ face and name have been broadcast in media reports and on her own Web site. She also described her allegations in testimony before a congressional subcommittee.

Jones worked as a clerical worker for KBR at a Halliburton office in Baghdad’s fortified Green Zone and alleges she was drugged and raped by several Halliburton workers in her company barracks bedroom. She also claims she was placed under armed guard and held in a “prison-like container” for hours after reporting the alleged attack.

KBR and Halliburton, which split in 2007, have disputed Jones’ account of how the companies responded to her allegations.

A lower court found Jones allegations of assault and battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligent hiring and supervision of employees and false imprisonment did not fall within the scope of the arbitration clause of the contract she signed. Two of the judges from the federal appeals court agreed, with one dissenting.

Halliburton and KBR are headquartered in Houston. Halliburton did not immediately respond to a call for comment Tuesday. KBR spokeswoman Heather L. Browne said the company has not fully reviewed the court’s decision and declined to comment.

Senator Reid Wants Investigation Into Adam Hermansons Electrocution Death

Reid asks for investigation into electrocution

By KIMBERLY HEFLING
Associated Press Writer
September 14, 2009 – 3:45pm

WASHINGTON (AP)— Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is asking the State Department and Pentagon to investigate the electrocution death of a 25-year-old private contractor killed while showering in his dormitory in Baghdad.

Reid says he wants to know whether Adam Hermanson’s death resulted from faulty electrical work. Hermanson was from Reid’s home state of Nevada.

Electrical wiring has been an ongoing problem in Iraq that the military has been trying to fix. At least three troops have been electrocuted while showering since the start of the Iraq War, and others have been electrocuted elsewhere.

Hermanson died Sept. 1.

Reid made the request Monday in letters to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Defense Secretary Robert Gates. (click HERE for the original article)

I am please that Senator Reid is taking steps to find out what happened to Adam Hermanson. It’s clear the DoD and DoS aren’t. They argued for a week about who was responsible for the facility. I think a determination was finally made after a heated match of  “Rock-Paper-Scissors”! I find it hard to believe these two huge Government agencies could not decide if they were responsible for this camp.

Now, I ask….”Where’s the evidence that was removed from from the building where Adam Hermanson died?”

From KBR – Death Of Employee Lucas “Trent” Vinson

Update: US Soldier charged in death of Lucas Vinson.

Blue Border Communications Bulletin #9
Death of Employee Lucas ‘Trent’ Vinson – 14 Sep 2009

LOGCAP III Employees:

As many of you have heard, a KBR LOGCAP III employee was shot and killed at COB Speicher. This is a tragic situation, and the death of an employee is one of my greatest fears as the Principal Program Manager.

At approximately 08:30 yesterday, September 13, Lucas “Trent” Vinson, a Client Owned Equipment Specialist at COB Speicher, was shot by an unidentified person while operating a motor vehicle outside of the project management office. He later died during emergency surgery. The media is reporting that a soldier has been detained in connection with the incident, and you will probably hear many stories on how this happened.

Because the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division is currently conducting an investigation, at this time I can not comment further on what has happened. I can say our Department and project management are conducting inquiries in an attempt to determine what happened, and how to keep our employees safer on the project.

Mr. Vinson has relatives on this project, including his father. We have been in contact with the family, and our heartfelt condolences go out to them and everyone who has been affected by this tragedy. We have sent Employee Assistance Program experts to the C Sites to not only support the family, but those co-workers who need someone to talk to. There were several witnesses to the event, and there will be a lot of healing that will need to take place. If you feel you need to talk with someone about this event, please contact your Human Resources or EAP representative, they are here to help.

There is the possibility members of the media will ask our employees questions about the event, and I remind everyone of our policy requiring prior approval before talking to the media. If a member of the media, including military Public Affairs officers, approach you, please refer them to your Project Manager.

This is a time of mourning, and I ask that you join with me in remembering Mr. Vinson and his family with kind thoughts or prayer. Because this happened, I can think of no better way to honor Trent than to continue with the mission he was on – and that is to deliver an excellent product to the military we support.

We Deliver,

(SIGNATURE)

GUY LaBOA
Principal Program Manager
LOGCAP III Middle East/Central Asia

Update: US soldier charged in Vinson death.

Civilian contractor shot dead on US base in Iraq

(AP) – BAGHDAD — A civilian contractor was shot and killed Sunday on an American military base in the Iraqi city of Tikrit and a U.S. soldier has been detained in connection with the incident, the military said.

The contractor was shot at 8:30 a.m. at Camp Speicher, the military said in a statement.

Houston-based KBR confirmed in a short statement that the man killed was one of its employees, 27-year-old .

“As the Army is leading the investigation of the incident, KBR is not providing further comment at this time,” spokeswoman Heather Browne said in an e-mailed statement. “We are of course fully cooperating with the Army on its continued investigation.”

Maj. Derrick Cheng, a public affairs officer, said a soldier had been detained in connection with the incident, but that he could not divulge any more information while the investigation is ongoing.

“We offer our sincere condolences to the family of the individual,” he said.

The U.S. military makes wide use of contractors in Iraq for , technical support and supply functions.

KBR is the primary support contractor in Iraq, providing troops with essential services, including housing, meals, mail delivery and laundry.

As of June 30, 1,395 civilian employees of U.S. government contractors had been killed in Iraq, according to an AP count. (click HERE for the original article)

Now that the Associated Press has confirmed and released the name of KBR employee Lucas Vinson, I will allow comments. Please keep them respectful on all levels.

My most sincere condolences to the friends, family and co-workers of Lucas Vinson. My prayers are with you.

My prayers are also with this soldier, his family and his entire unit.
