DCMA Accepts KBR’s Corrective Action Plan-1 year later

FacebookStumbleUponRedditDiggLinkedInShare

Almost one year and who knows how many revisions later KBR finally submits a Corrective Action Plan (CAP) the DCMA can accept. On September 11, 2008 the DCMA issued a Level III Corrective Action Request (CAR) # HQ-08-LOGCAP-001 LIII to KBR for their Deficient Quality Systems with regards to electrical maintenance and installations. (Click HERE to read that original post)

From the CAR:

a. This enclosure documents two overarching findings of nonconformance:

i. Grounding and Bonding: KBR’s quality system failed to properly identify and systematically correct facility grounding and bonding deficiencies…..

ii. Quality System: KBR’s Inspection/Quality Control System failed to identify and systemically correct numerous Program-wide deficiencies……

Click HERE to read Corrective Action Request (CAR) # HQ-08-LOGCAP-001 LII. Rumor has it this CAR actually started out as a Level IV. It was that serious. But in usually LOGCAP fashion, the DoD succumbed to pressures and lowered the level.

I do not have the final Corrective Action Plan as of yet. As soon as I get it I will post it. If you have it please email it to me.

This CAR was issued after the facts were revealed surrounding the true manner in which SSG Ryan Maseth died. He was electrocuted in his shower due to shoddy electrical work. Specifically improper grounding of the water pump in his building at Radwaniah Palace Complex.

Although the CAP for this CAR has been accepted, this does not mean business as usual for KBR.  They have to consistently adhere to the conditions of the Corrective Action Plan (CAP).  This Level III  CAR and the CAP are a permanent DoD documents.

So…if you have that CAP please send it. If you have information about KBR violating this CAP, please let me know so I can pass it on. I’m sure I will be blogging more about this.

Not sure if the CAP is out i am sure they will send it to you but no it is not business as usual. If they don’t adhere to the Corrective Action Plan they will be sunk. They lost a chance at 15 billion in Afghanistan.

    Ms Sparky’s Response:
I really hope you are right. The safety of our troops and civilians depend on it. I am still getting reports almost daily that managers are still “strongly encouraging” (forcing) people to sign off on inspections they didn’t complete and transferring or RIFing those who don’t comply. To me that sounds like KBR business as usual.

1 down, pretty soon will have the new task order for LOGCAPIV…

    Ms Sparky’s Response:
1 down and “How Many” to go? Ra Ra Ra you can be the KBR cheerleader!!
Just how many CARs has KBR gotten in the last 12 months? Anyone know? 100? 200? 300? More than that?

Ms Sparky the DCMA QARS write CARS for any issues they find. They no longer say fix it and be done with it. They issued a CAR for a inventory list which was not enclosed in a document protector. that is why you see alot of CARS. I know you dislike KBR and you have made it your mission to expose as much about KBR as you can. I did not hear you mention the 89 CARS that Fluor got in in one day. But at least you do mention them sometimes. Alot of KBR folks left for greener pasture and now they want to come back because they said KBR was a place of mass confusion. LOL, at least you get paid on time. Thank you ms sparky for providing a blog for people to express there feelings

    Ms Sparky’s Response:
My Fluor contacts are not as reliable and consistent as my KBR contacts. But they will be soon enough. You are right, there are two sides to every story. That’s why I report the serious information and let the investigators sort it out. Not me.

And yes….I encourage my readers to express their opinions even if they don’t agree with me and as long as they don’t turn my blog into a XXX site and are actually trying to add something to the conversation.

I think so many people DEMOB that they do not have to Rif people if that is case why all of a sudden they are hiring more people? Yes you may recieve reports of this but there is always 2 sides to the story. yes people are leaving for other companies but i also hear reports that they want to come back to KBR because what they were promised is not what they are getting from there new companies.

    Ms Sparky’s Response:
These are individual circumstances. I have several readers who would disagree with you.

Hey Happy, Did you hear about the big meeting in Bag Daddy this week? Selected Site Managers were invited to help decided the fate of the empire, as you know it. I’ve even heard management is looking to terminate long-standing employees. It’s part of the new KBR attitude of the “You’ve been here too long and your part of the problem” program. That tip came from a KBR site manager friend of mine. Think about it for a moment if anyone has lasted there as long as some of them have say 3-5 years you could be part of the problem. It is true those who have lasted the longest need to go home!

The KBR website is looking for several hundred Carpenters, HVAC, Plumbers and Generator Mechanics. This time they are requiring qualified trades people. Maybe KBR cleaned out several of the dumb asses, except management types of course.

    Baboo

Like everywhere, they are always rumors going on…For me, i believe it when it happens. Even that, Kbr job has allowed me to paid off my house, cars and bills, DEBT FREE!!! in this depression, not recession like media portraits. No only that, my Roth IRA is well funded in the six digits…and im not even 40. So, for me, KBR can go bankrupt tomorrow and i will be fine and happy for everything this job has allowed to do for my finances. How many people has done what i done in this economy? Very few.

Now you see why im HappyKBREmployee ;)

Or maybe, they are getting a piece of LOGCAPIV ;)

    Ksniper777,

You are correct, a LOT of people that demobbed or went to a different company want to come back to KBR

I love when you delete comments that you dont like. KBR will keep going forward no matter if you like it or not.

    Ms Sparky’s Response:
I only delete comments that could get me sued for slander. When someone is slamming an ex husband or old girlfriend by name. If you have posted those then chances are I have deleted your comments. For some reason most of your comments end up in my SPAM comments folder. Wonder why that is?

  11. Comment by Insurgents Target:

During the front line supervisor training we were told by the instructor that to date KBR had over 500 CARs and that was a month or so ago.

    Ms Sparky’s Response:
Wow. I sure would like to see that list. There is no way that KBR could be doing any worse than they have been in the past. What that tells me is the DCMA hasn’t been doing their job. From 2001 in Afghanistan to about August 2008 the DCMA was asleep on the job. Understaffed, underqualified, complacent. And people died because of it.

    Hey Happy,

Or rather should I say hector? Glad you paid all that off but what about that business you were going to get into in Florida? How is that going? How are the kids? It was not KBR that helped you pay it off. It was the US telling KBR to hire some US citizens and more TCNs. You were just lucky that Bush went into Iraq. Now how about that bronze star?

  15. Comment by Shock and Awe:

I was told today by a very reliable person that if Task Force Safe writes up a facility that KBR has always had the O&M on that KBR is now just telling the DoD they don’t want the O&M on it anymore and the DoD is just saying OK. I guess this is happening more and more countrywide in Iraq. Is there anyone else out there that can clarify this?

???? Way off your target, refrain from using my name

Hey Happy Hector, Way off? Hmmm, do not think so, he, he, he! Maybe there are some digital pics of you out there that some have. Don’t you think? Taken before KBR policy of hiding the truth by the camera ban.
