		<description>I spent 18 months at Club Speicher, C-1 and we had an open burn pit that on a daily basis the sky would be black and for the most part you had to wear a surgical mask driving past the pit or working near it. Just on the other side of the pit were several military LSA&#039;s and an airport. Hell,there were times you woke up in the middle of the night to put a mask on. I don&#039;t know which is worse. being here in the Green Zone now or there in the smoke zone??

&lt;strong&gt;Ms Sparky&#039;s Response:&lt;/strong&gt;
Things must have really gone to hell when they started turning the Green Zone over the Iraq. It used to be a decent place in comparison to some of the other hell holes in Iraq. When I first got to the Green Zone in 2004 the Burn pit was between Camp Hope and the Tigris River. The smoke was so thick and big chunks of ash like huge black snow flakes landed on you as you walked to your trailer while trying not to breathe. It sucked!!
