Do you know these KBR employees from Camp Harper?

iraq-photo-hearing-04-09-2008

This photo was taken at a small T-Site near in Tallil, in February 2008 and appeared as evidence at a hearing of the U.S Senate Committee on Foreign Relations on April 9, 2008.

The photo was taken by alleged rapist (not sure of spelling) after he allegedly raped and assaulted on February 3, 2008 Super Bowl Sunday.

The photo was allegedly supposed to send a message to Ms. Leamon that “no one heard anything, no one saw anything and no one was going to say anything.”

  • The person on the left with the baseball cap and hands over his mouth was/is supposedly a KBR plumber from Camp Harper.
  • The person in the center with his hands over his eyes was/is supposedly the KBR person at Camp Harper.
  • The person on the right with his hands over his ears was/is supposedly the area KBR Area Security Manager for the T-Sites and was/is supposed to be from Camp Adder.

This is a disgusting display isn’t it. Is it not KBR Security’s job to protect it’s people? Is it not KBR managements job to establish and maintain the level of professionalism that is to be expected from their subordinates. This is clearly ANOTHER example of unqualified people in management positions.

I need the names of these people. If you don’t feel comfortable leaving a public comment click HERE to send me an email.

You can watch the entire Hearing video HERE. Just click on the link in the title of the hearing. The part discussing this photo begins at 1:36:04 of the video. (you will need Real Player) Below is the transcript of the testimony with regards to the photo.

MS. LEAMON: Prior to leaving Camp Harper, my camera had been broken. We had some indirect fire that caused significant damage close to a living area. I had asked William Reisner (ph), who had been taking pictures, if he would transfer those to my flash drive so that I could take them home. He transferred those photographs along with a photograph that was fairly undesirable of me, as well as several photographs of him as well as a photograph of the head of security, the head of the camp security, and another KBR employee.

SEN. NELSON: The undesirable photograph of you having been taken on the night of the –

MS. LEAMON: Assault.

SEN. NELSON: — assault.

MS. LEAMON: Correct.

SEN. NELSON: And there was another photograph of another male that was in bed with two Bosnian women?

MS. LEAMON: That’s CID’s photographs that they showed me, asking me to identify people — (crosstalk) –

SEN. NELSON: Okay, unrelated to the photographs you got.

MS. LEAMON: Correct.

SEN. NELSON: The Criminal Investigative Unit had a separate photograph of — was it one of the assailants?

MS. LEAMON: They had a picture of the camp — the military camp liaison in bed with the Bosnian women.

SEN. NELSON: And the Bosnian women are people that are there that are employees of –

MS. LEAMON: Of KBR.

SEN. NELSON: — preparing the food.

MS. LEAMON: Correct.

SEN. NELSON: Tell me, one of these photographs, we have a blown up copy. Now, this is the photograph that you received that was on your — what do you call it? The thumb –

MS. LEAMON: Thumb drive — (inaudible) — stick.

SEN. NELSON: And this happened to show up on this that you were given by whom?

MS. LEAMON: By William Reisner, my –

SEN. NELSON: William Reisner, your assailant. And can you describe that photograph for us, who they are and what they’re doing.

MS. LEAMON: The person — I don’t know what you want, from right to left. The person with the cap on, saying that’s the right, is a KBR employee and just a plumber.

SEN. NELSON: And this is at Camp –

MS. LEAMON: Harper.

SEN. NELSON: — Harper, where the assault took place. So they gave you this thumb drive of photographs before you left to come home, or was this — well, when you left –

MS. LEAMON: (Crosstalk) –

SEN. NELSON: — Camp Harper to go to Camp Cedar.

MS. LEAMON: Yes.

SEN. NELSON: Okay, and the fellow in the middle?

MS. LEAMON: He’s security for Camp Harper.

SEN. NELSON: Is he the chief of security?

MS. LEAMON: We had one security person there at the time.

SEN. NELSON: Uh-huh, okay.

MS. LEAMON: And the one at the end is –

SEN. NELSON: With his hands cupped over his ears.

MS. LEAMON: Is security for the T sites, the head of security for the T sites at Camp Adder.

SEN. NELSON: And are any one of those your assailant?

MS. LEAMON: No, sir.

SEN. NELSON: No. They’re not there. So these are all employees at Camp Harper.

MS. LEAMON: The two — the one in the middle and the one far right with the hands over his mouth are at Camp Harper.

SEN. NELSON: And the one at Camp Cedar with his hands over –

MS. LEAMON: That’s Adder.

SEN. NELSON: At Camp Adder with his hands over his ears is –

MS. LEAMON: Is the head of security.

SEN. NELSON: — the head of security.

MS. LEAMON: Correct.

SEN. NELSON: And so we’ve got a security guy in the middle, a security guy with his hands over his ears, and we have KBR contractor with his hands over his mouth.

MS. LEAMON: Correct.

SEN. NELSON: Now, what does that picture suggest to you?

MS. LEAMON: That picture says not to say anything. That picture has –

SEN. NELSON: See no evil; hear no evil; speak no evil.

MS. LEAMON: And while I was at Camp Harper, I had talked to the person in the middle, and he said — I don’t know that he had any knowledge of what happened to me, but he did have knowledge of other things. And he told me, if you don’t say anything, everything will be fine, just don’t say anything.

SEN. NELSON: And he actually said that to you –

MS. LEAMON:Yeah.

SEN. NELSON: — before you left Camp Harper.

MS. LEAMON: Yeah.

If you have any information about this crime please email me and I will get you in touch with the appropriate person.

you know, i am NOT too shocked to see this… after all, that is kbr’s way… they preach and preach to do the right thing and report everything up, but when you do, and ESPECIALLY if it is something that needs to be brought to the attention of the military, they try to “quiet” you…. gotta love the scare tactics…

  3. Comment by ms sparky:

Camp Harper is also known as T-5 at Al Bashrah

  4. Comment by Mac:

What a bunch of low life pigs. Actually I like pigs. These guys suck. Wanna bet me $1000 bucks that KBR didn’t fire or punish these guys in any way. Sadly there are people like this at EVERY camp. Mostly because KBR doesn’t punish them. It sucks that you can rape someone and get no punishment. But complain about doing illegal electrical work and it’s Pasta or Chicken for you. That’s messed up.

    Ms Sparky’s Response:
Yep…that’s pretty much the way it is.

  5. Comment by Krash:

“SSSHHHHH . .. don’t say anything, don’t report anything and your job will be safe, if you report it” . . . . well ya’ll know the rest . . chicken or pasta!!!!

Seems like nothing has changed since this LOGCAP contract began!!!! Maybe if criminal charges were brought against these people then KBR would be singing a different tune.

  6. Comment by ms sparky:

My readers ROCK!!! The center person has been identified.

Now let’s identify the person on each end.

    Thank you.

  7. Comment by ms sparky:

The person on the right has been identified as well as the person in the center!! Woo! Hoo! two down one to go.

Who is the guy on the left??

  8. Comment by rotordude61:

99% of security personnel are a*s clowns especially the surly scowling ones at logcap hq., very sad for the people that work there.

    Ms Sparky’s Response:
The surly scowling one?? Anyone in particular. I know at least 1 of the 1%. He’s a great guy and honest. I haven’t talked to him in a couple of years. At least I hope he’s still honest.

  9. Comment by ThaTruth:

I worked with all these people. i know all there fist names but not last. from left to right. Richard- he’s not a plumber anymore he got promoted and is now a general foreman in salerno afghanistan. Rick- he claimed he didn’t do anything wrong but quit the job a few weeks later while the investigation was still going on. Last but not least Eric-he still works for kbr. when your regional manager you can pull some strings and still stay. Belive it or not they weren’t the worse ones on the camp. theres about 3 or 4 more people that hung around them that were more a** holes. hoped this help.

MY SON IS GOING TO CAMP SCANIA TO WORK ANY INFO ABOUT CAMP WOULD BE GRATEFUL. THANKS

    Ms Sparky’s Resonse:
I believe that’s T site at Tallil. How about you Ksniper777. Any words of wisdom for a new hire at the T Sites?

  11. Comment by Krash:

ellybell: what job will your son be doing? Best contact at Scania (T3) is “Momma Bear” in TransOps (I believe that she is still on the night shift). Your son will be sent to Tallil (T1) first then on to (T3) Scania.

Hope this helps, if you have more questions MsSparky can put you directly in touch with me.

  12. Comment by Ksniper777:

Scania is the best keep secret it is a very small camp and the people there are good. Not sure how much BS you have to put up with but if you have your goals set work toward them and stay out of the BS and you will be just fine. Krash is correct Tallil first and then on to Scania. If you need more information like krash said Ms Sparky can give you my email address and i will answer your questions.

  13. Comment by jester66:

the man on the right is Eric Barnhart the security manager of T-sites. He is a dangerous man if you get on his wrong side. He was enamored with a lady that works at talil his home base, “SL” but she was seeing one of the security guys that worked under him, so he transfers this man to camp cedar and starts pursuing ms “SL”. then next thing you know he fires this other security guy for sending him a joke in the kbr email system (they had exchanged jokes forever through kbr email but that was before mr. barnhart wanted ms “SL”). Now mr barnhart and ms “SL” are involved. Don’t cross mr barnhart you will have a one way ticket home. He is the poster boy for all things wrong with KBR.

    Ms Sparky’s Response:
THank you for that information. I’m sorry I had to edit your comment a little and remove the name of “SL” and the other person. They aren’t implicated in any wrong doing and need not be brought into this.

  14. Comment by truthbtold:

The most surprising aspect of this whole thread is that Ms. Leamon is the one who actually took the picture as the 3 guys were taking a break from filling sandbags. Too bad the actual truth is alot less dramatic!!

    Ms Sparky’s Response:
Interesting. That is NOT the info that is being relayed and I don’t mean by Dawn Leamon. Nice try though.

    • Comment by goldendeal:

      truthbtold is correct.
I was chosen for a 3 day mock trial of the case and the fact is Ms. Leamon walked by and saw the men sitting there taking a break and she commented “you guys look like 3 little monkeys sitting there” hence, she took the picture as they posed, as the see no , no hear, no speak no, monkeys.

  15. Comment by MM8:

They don’t look like they have been filling sandbags.

When you fill or carry sandbags the dirt falls on the thighs of your pants, they end up really dirty. Those guys jeans are spotless.

Also; since when does the head of security for a site fill sandbags?

Nice try “truthbtold” but the only sandbagging going on here is in your post…

    Ms Sparky’s Response:
I see your point on head of security…he obviously wasn’t doing anything but posing for a photo. But Americans don’t actually do the manual labor, except for some crafts, ie electricians, plumbers, HVAC etc. These Americans were probably supposed to be supervising 10-20 locals or foreign national laborers making $8-$10 a day filling sandbags.

    • Comment by Slowrydr:

Actually Americans actually do labor on these camps. On this perticular camp, the labor force had been done away with do to security concernse and all the labor was done by KBR direct hires (including) Americans. You don’t always come away with sand and dirty clothse from this job and yes security does fill sand bags. Also, the “if you don’t say anything” might have spawned from the fact that approximately 11-15 employees were being investigated for possession of alcohol at the said party that Mrs Leamon, a self proclaimed alcoholic was drinking at.

  16. Comment by Ksniper777:

I don’t know what camp you were at but i see alot of americans doing manual labor it is not like it used to be when you were here Sparky

  17. Comment by kbr_seii_employee:

I agree with Ksniper, things have changed. It is not perfect, and you will still find some of my fellow Americans sitting in the AC while his crew is out in the heat, but it is tons better than what it was two and three years ago.

  18. Comment by Wolfmother:

Is the security tech “Eric Barnhart” still an employee through KBR?

  19. Comment by fumigator:

SL and EB demobed the exact same day from Talil. They are no longer working for KBR.

  20. Comment by karmascoming:

EB is a pathetic excuse of a father. He left his job in Iraq, left his wife and his son who is going into his senior year for “SL”. Sending no support what so ever for his wife or son leaving them to fend for themselves. Everything you heard about EB is true. he’s a lair and cannot be trusted.
