I have received a bunch of emails like this this morning. Something is clearly up with KBR! It is coming from different recruiters for different crafts. This one happens to be from an electrician.

I just received this email from my KBR recruiter. I was all done and ready to fly to Houston. Do you know what is going on?
“As you know the economy is in a recession at the present time. Due to this KBR is also being affected. All hires have been suspended until further notice. 200 jobs have been canceled. Yours is one of them. At this time I have to rescind your offer of employment. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Please remember this is out of my control. I will hold on to your paperwork and when jobs start rolling in again you will definitely be the first I call. I will give you a call tomorrow to answer any questions you may have”

I do not have any specifics on what is going on here but I can certainly say it has nothing to do with the economy. KBR has been canceling people at the very last minute. And it appears to be all crafts. If I can find some truthful answers I will let you know.
Not all jobs are canceled so my advice is….. Until you are boots on the ground in the Middle East DO NOT quit your job. Keep all your receipts.

Any idea what happened to the overtime issue after 40 hrs, weekends, holiday’s and full uplift the attorney’s were fighting for? And supposedly won!

The California firm working the class action did not have deep enough pockets to contue dancing with KBR/Halliburtons bottomless money pit for leagal maneuvering!

KBR pockets were too deep to allow any firm to continue – the issue is in continuance for discovery the last I heard
Which firm had it last?
I think that at least part of this had to do with the Law Firm actually reading the law that applies to uplifts and determining that at least part of the case was not valid.
None of the contractor – not KBR – DYN – Fluor or ITT dictate how the uplifts are calcualted or applied. This is established by the US Department of State. – Who also sets the uplift precentages.
Could these companies choose to pay more than this – sure – could they bill these extra allowances to the Government – absolutely not – they would not pass the test of being ALLOWABLE.
Below is a description straight from the DOS website (www.state.gov) regarding how uplifts are claculated and applied. The entire direction is in the DSSR regulations.
“Employees receive Danger and/or Hardship Pay as a percentage of their basic compensation. Neither overtime and other premium pay nor other allowances are factored into the calculation. Additional Pay is paid only for hours for which basic compensation is paid (DSSR 655).”

KBR LOST IT CONTRACT HERE IN AFGHANISTAN, KANDAHAR
THEY ARE FLYING INDIVIUDALS ALL OVER.
THEY WILL MOVE ALL THE VIP’S CONTAINERS, AND THE ARMY OR DYNA COPR WILL TAKE OVER, THE CONTAINERS AND THE HR, PAYROLL, ETC. HOUSES.

I’m working here in Iraq with one of KBR’s sub -contractors.I was hurt on the job and found out that their was know one here to help me with my medical problems,seems that this company that i’m working with has no medical for there employee’s.Had to wait to mill-air to baghdad like 10 days after the accident to be seen by Doctor,what’s up with that?
