In large sheet sets that encompass large commercial projects, the Architectural or Engineering firms will job out the specialized works to the respective professions such as civil, structural, electrical professionals, or created in house by their professional engineers. The residential design process can be somewhat different depending on the scope of work.

There are set design limitations regarding what Architects, Structural or Civil Engineers can perform with out venturing to far into each other’s respective professions. These design professionals know what their respective limitations are depending upon the jurisdiction they practice in.

The IBC building requirements explain what the minimum limits are for each building type required in the amendments and referenced to other design code manuals. These design limits are spelled in each city and state requirement.

In theory the electrical engineers are supposed to calculate the required loads and the electrical designers create the schematic line drawings. These sheet sets are to include the required minimums. This information is necessary in the design review process to understand loads and capacity of the equipment being represented to meet minimum requirements for documentation of electrical panel schedules to meet configuration management requirements. All schematic drawings showing electrical panels must include panel schedules. This format provides the information necessary to review the proposed layout and to allow for the management to document and the configuration of the premises electrical wiring.

One important note; Although these people will deny any involvement which is plausible, some one had to give the approval (or took it upon themselves)to proceed with the installation if the question was never asked to the foreman or superintendent or engineer.

Hey Lou Dobbs, if CNN is looking for some answers start here with busting some chops:
Faulty wiring in Kandahar, Afghanistan-03-05, talk to these people regarding KBR construction practices in the field and to the African American woman who was in charge of Human Resources for Afghanistan under Rick Rueter.

Please note: During start up Houston HR did not check any references to my knowledge, later resume candidates were collected in Houston then prescreened and approved by the respective department heads in theatre.

Ms Sparky's Response:
Thanks for this great info. I will make sure to pass it all on. Keep it coming! Finally someone in DoD is taking notice.
