Thats because he was one of a kind! I have never in my life felt so blessed to have met a person the way that I did when I met him. The man that he was……you might meet once in a life time if you are lucky……I’m just glad I was one of the lucky ones! Everything I’ve heard about him has been what a wonderful guy he was and how great it was to work with him. Something about his death has just not seemed right to me. Thanks for coming forward with this information. I’m glad you were able to get this off your chest.

I’ve been debating a long time to post this. I worked at Falcon many years and knew Robert very well. Nobody has talked about the area where he died. He was working where the old AHA (ammunition holding area) was. It got hit on October 10, 2006 and was going off for almost 12 hours. It was marked off limits/do not use on maps the Army posted. I could not believe it when the new unit came it and started using that area. I’m not saying it had anything to do with it, but some soldiers in view of him reported hearing a pop and seeing smoke as they looked his way. This has always bothered me because there were no electrical wires discovered where he was digging. I could go on and on but that’s all I’m going to say. I get really upset when I talk about this. He was a great guy.

I’m not sure where you’re going with the gym, drugs, etc. Don’t make assumptions. I assure you the kid in logistics and Robert had nothing to do with hormone drugs or any of that mess.

Robert’s “change” was due to the amount of responsibility he took on. Stressed? Probably, he never stepped away from a challenge or if someone was on R&R he was great about stepping up to help out.

Yes, Robert was in the gym frequently. A few days didn’t go by that we didn’t chat about workouts, nutrition, etc.

Robert was nothing other than a stand up guy…..always.

I’m not sure what brought Robert and this site to mind but, thought I would stop in and see if there’s anything new.

It’s disappointing to see the “spewing” about Robert/KBR and second guessing the cause of his death.

I returned from FOB Falcon in 6/09 and also knew Robert very well. I got chewed out on a regular basis for messing up on my staff’s time cards…lol.

Robert was a terrific guy….a terrible thing to see happen. God bless Robert and all his family.

I know all of us who were at Falcon and knew Rob will miss him dearly and my sympathy to his family!!

There were four of us from KBR, that put him on the bird. One was my roommate
We volunteered you can have all the doubts you want. Would you also want to know what time
because I wont forget.
The military asked if we wanted to do it
and we said yes.
That is something that I hope I never have to do again. But if asked I will out of respect for a fellow friend and colleague

I talked to Susie and his mother both on the phone for a very long time.
And explained to them everything that happened that day .
Also all events that lead up to that fateful day.
I had to wait until I demobed from KBR,
But when I got home the discussion was very long and very explicit in detail.
This will be the last I say about this on this blog.

I do not get to see this blog to much,But I am amazed on how much people who where not there know so much.
I myself was there and have talked to Rob’s family and told them what I know first hand.
If so many people know so much then give it up to his family.
Otherwise shut up and stop giving his family grief!I take offense to people who know nothing!
and pretend they know the whole story.
Which they do not.
I have told Rob’s family I will give a statement or even testify if need be.
So before you think you know something and open your big old mouth .
Think about the great man Rob was and the good family he left behind. Do not soil his memory
with stupid supposition

How many deaths does there need to be before it’s unacceptable to perform substandard electrical work? 1? 10? 100? At what point is EVERY human life important. I can’t account for the work done by the military. But I am all to familiar with the work done by KBR.

Yes, I was there for two years. Running for the bunkers when the mortars and rockets came. Which was numerous times EVERY DAMN DAY in 2004! I am an electrician. These families need real answers and when a family member contacts me and asks for help I will help them every time.
