GLENN BECK JOINS FOX NEWS

Glenn Beck has signed a multi-year agreement to join FOX News, announced Roger Ailes, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of FOX News. Beginning next spring, Beck will host FOX News Channel’s (FNC) 5 PM/ET weekday program as well as a weekend show on the network.

Currently, Beck serves as the host of Glenn Beck, a talk show on CNN’s Headline News which has grown more than 200% in viewership in both the 7pm and 9pm timeslots since its 2006 debut. He also hosts a daily radio show The Glenn Beck Program which is syndicated via Premiere Radio Networks to more than 300 stations nationwide as well as XM Satellite Radio, and ranks as the third most listened to radio talk show in America among adults 25-54.

In making the announcement, Ailes said, “As we embark on a new political landscape, Glenn’s thought provoking commentary will complement an already stellar line-up of stars at FOX News”

Prior to his television career, Beck served as a talk radio show host at WFLA-AM in Tampa, FL where he took his program to number one within his first year there. He began his radio career in Corpus Christi, Texas as the youngest Top 40 morning show disc jockey in America at 18 years of age. Beck later moved on to become a top 40 disc jockey in major markets around the country, including Houston, Washington, DC, Baltimore, Phoenix and New Haven, CT.

Beck added, “I am thrilled and profoundly humbled to have the chance to bring my program to FOX News. Expanding my audience is exciting, but I’m really looking forward to joining Mr. Ailes and his world-class team.”

A recipient of the 2008 Marconi Award for Network Syndicated Personality of the Year from the National Association of Broadcasters, Beck is also the author of the New York Times bestseller An Inconvenient Book – Real Solutions to the World’s Biggest Problems (2007) as well as The Real America – Messages from the Heart and Heartland (2005).

FOX News Channel (FNC) is a 24-hour general news service covering breaking news as well as political, entertainment and business news. For more than six years, FNC has been the most watched cable news channel in the nation. Owned by News Corp., FNC is available in more than 90 million homes.

I just got this off http://www.GlennBeck.com

“Glenn’s TV show will be moving to Fox News Channel, beginning early next year.

In the mean time, Glenn’s show on CNN Headline News has come to an end.

Don’t despair: Glenn will begin making appearances on Fox News soon. To keep up to date on when Glenn will be on, make sure you’re signed up for our free daily email newsletter.”

You can tell which news channel on cable is making the most money and can afford to spend it. Beck doesn’t come cheap! My only problem is DishNetwork doesn’t carry Fox News on the cheap channels. (the only ones I am going to pay for) I am going to miss Beck as he is my favorite, until I find a way to catch him. They sure kept it quiet too, heard a rumor but couldn’t confirm it. Must be one of those industry espionage things.

    Ms Sparky’s Response:
I don’t know what happened. It happened so fast. And go figure….Glenn won’t return my calls. I really like him too. I don’t care for Fox though..but I might be able to make an exception for GB.

    Ms Sparky’s Response:

  7. sunda5 says:

I have been wondering what has happened to GB’S show. Everynight I hurried making dinner so I won;t miss his show, and if I did, I will catch the later one. He’s the greatest, truthfull, honest and daring, not worrying about that silly stuffs like POLITICAL CORRECTNESS ( which perhaps why he is no longer with CNN). I will count every day until Spring to catch his show

    Ms Sparky’s Response:
    Me too!!!

  8. Carol Tucker says:

This is wonderful news, in the right time slot also! It will give us a break from bombastic Meghan Kelly, the drama queen whose every sentence sounds like a Shakespearean soliloquy .
Glenn Beck will be the perfect host, this is wonderful news and a good move. Should have been with Fox long ago.

  9. Jeanie says:

Thank God Glenn is leaving the far-left network. I only watch FOX, so this is wonderful news.

    Good Luck Glenn!

Glenn Beck has been liberated! He can now speak freely without retribution. CNN won’t allow bipartisan comments but promotes division. Fox News has always reported both sides of the story, so thats why many don’t like it for they’d rather hear the news the way they see it. Fox News challenges you to look at it from both angles and make up your own damn mind. I have watched Fox News for the past 8 years because I can trust them to tell me what both sides of an issue are saying allowing me to determine what I belive. They do not sensationalize a story they report the story.

Ms Sparky my father is a 60 year member of the IBEW. My grandfather was instrumental in bringing the Union into the area back in the 40’s, my uncle carried it on after his death. I grew up in a Union household with plenty of union electricians. I respect the Union and what it has done for us over the years. However my father said it best when he said “your grandfather pushed for the union in this area to ensure our safety first and foremost when on the job and second to ensure all employees were treated fairly and with respect. What the electricians who work overseas are experiencing we experienced on our own soil back in the 40’s and fought long and fought hard for change. Don’t forget what the union was meant to be all along, it was never meant to be about high wages and huge elaborate christmas parties. It was meant for fair and equal treatment of the average blue collar worker who happens to be working for you and to ensure the job was done in a safe and accurate manner.”

I can’t help wondering if Americans are listening when electricians, or other trade workers, that step out from under the safety net of a Union to work in a foregin country who complain about the work ethics, shoddy equipment and outright disregard for human life aren’t saying “Thank God for Unions” Wake up America! This is happening in our country right now as we continue to disregard union electricians in our developments and construction sites.
I’m done preaching. Oh by the way, my husband is a Plumbing Foreman in Kuwait, he is a Master Plumber, Licensed Plumbing Inspector making $70,000 a year. He was promised more but they “accidentally” gave him the wrong salary amount. Due to the economy in our area he stayed in Kuwait for a year but probably will go back until he finds employment elsewhere. He was promised a raise with his credentials back in July but was told only electricians will get it who work in Iraq or Afghanistan. Also, KBR has a 6 month extension in Kuwait then will turn it over to DynCorp. We do not know for certain what will happen to his job at that time.
I can relate to so much you and your bloggers have been saying, yet I am very grateful for his employment and the ability to talk everyday, by phone or internet. I look forward to reuniting with him in 3 days after being apart this time since Sept. I don’t like him working overseas, but I appreciate his willingness to do it for us and support him every step of the way.
