Does JT really make that kind of money? $600,000? That is a lot of moola for someone who doesn’t seem to know what is going on around him. Is that true, Ms. Sparky? He told my buddy at Anaconda that he is quiting when his year is up next month.

And I also heard the transition to AFCAP is screwed up and is getting behind schedule because the new contractor doesn’t have his employees on the ground for the first AFCAP contract. He hasn’t even hired KBR workers yet. They are breaking the base up into several contractors for AFCAP, which is stupid. They handed one of the seveal DFACs over and a hundred diners got sick.

JBB is currently transitioning from LOGCAP to AFCAP but O&M electrical doesn’t transition until February.

Joe Tedesco showed up at Balad (anaconda) right before I de-mobed (20Aug09). My friend is “escorting” the $600,000 man around and trying to figure out how to get the hardstands validated. When will KBR figure out that they just need to rewire these buildings? They’ve spent more time and money on “consultant” when it’s completely obvious what needs to be done. So glad I de-mobed

Escorting?? Hmmm. Joe’s a legend in his own mind!! I thought that Joint Base Balad (JBB) was transitioning from LOGCAP to AFCAP and that KBR didn’t have the AFCAP contracts.

Oversized aggregate and unlicensed engineers = (E.I.T) who never worked in building construction and performing design work. This was common place…Most tradesman made it up as they went along with the program because of the lack of materials others gave-up caring because of this fact and most didn’t know jack and said they didn’t need a set of print to build anything no even an approved floor plan approved by the Military Base Engineer.

I haven’t got much use for the NEC; I call it the National Exception Catalog. The whole thing is an over-edited marketing product for whomever joins the club and concocts a cheaper, lamer piece of plastic, tin, or pot-metal.

Look at how much the code has grown in the last 5 cycles. Are buildings wired better today? (In the US) And since it keeps growing, why has the workmanship standard section dwindled to just a remark, and now is eliminated altogether? For some reason, I have to special order it.

Right now somebody’s got plans for inflatable panelboards and enclosures that’ll come from the same child-labor farm in China as the party favors sold at the dollar-store. Don’t take your eye off Aluminum either.
