Senator Bob Casey from Pennsylvania just released this statement:
I am deeply troubled to learn that now thirteen Americans have lost their lives in this manner. One death by electrocution is too many; the Department of Defense has an obligation to ensure that no future electrocutions occur on U.S. military installations in Iraq.
Not only that but:
Senator Casey also has learned that the Pentagon has ordered KBR to conduct theater-wide inspections of all maintained facilities to ensure that similar problems do not appear elsewhere.
Now what is wrong with this picture? KBR is inspecting their own areas of responsibility. Where is the independent oversight? How can we be certain the inspections are actually being done. How can we be certain the inspections are adequate and accurate? Will KBR report anything that makes them look less than favorable? I am deeply concerned about this!!

Dear Senator Casey,
You have the courage to ask the right questions. There are parents who deserve answers as they seek closure and justice for their children who have served without reservation far beyond any condolence can offer.
The common excuse of “It’s a war zone” does not suffice of justify or negate the contractors prime responsibility to their employees, serviceman and women and the United States taxpayer.
I suggest you an award-winning documentary entitled “Return to Tarawa the Leon Cooper Story. You will discover people do not forget even after the conflict has ended. Sir, please continue what you have started. People need you and your colleagues to be aggressive and non-relenting in your pursuit of justice.
This comment is to be addressed to all members of the House and Senate: Sen. Al Franken was in Iraq and Afghanistan before he was elected and took the risk during the height of the conflict.
