ROGERS – The cause of a Rogers soldier’s death in Iraq has been called in to question.

Sgt. 1st Class Anthony Woodham died from non-combat related injuries on July 5 at Camp Adder, Tallil, Iraq, according to a news release from Maj. Keith Moore, public affairs officer with the Arkansas Air National Guard. The release was issued Monday.

The Associated Press quoted Army officials on Wednesday as saying Woodham died of cardiac arrest and there was no sign of electrocution.

“We followed the medical documentation in our reports,” said Capt. Anthony Rushing. “I couldn’t say how this happened. That electrocution claim was something said by someone in the rush of the moment.”

Moore stated in the initial release that Woodham died of injuries resulting from contact with an electrified piece of metal in the vehicle maintenance area.

Moore said on Wednesday that he could not comment further.

“We are deferring all questions until the investigation is ,” Moore said.

Woodham was serving his second tour in Iraq with the 39th Brigade Support Battalion, 39th Brigade Combat Team based in Heber Springs.

Funeral services will be announced by Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers. (END OF ARTICLE)

Probably just more spin. The media rarely speaks the truth anymore.

Eagle Companies was one of the U.S. companies that bit on that work and our price was to high and we could not get the units there fast enough. Our units were all steel and would of never caught fire. Alot of the units they ended up buying came out of Turkey. And I am sure they were cheap. Bob Swisher with KBR specifically stated he wanted to use Eagle.

Your anger and frustration should be pointed at the pentagon. It is not entirely KBR fault. We did not have a full think tank of people in the Pentagon at the time of the war that thought through these kinds of details. Every purchase was in panic mode “got to have today” Our units were all steel and would of never caught fire. Alot of the units they ended up buying came out of Turkey.

I agree that the Pentagon has responsibility as well. They were the client! They had oversight responsibilities!
